Combat is not realistic
merlin:
Combat can be super hard against robbers and raiders, but its not their gear or their skills, its because they suicide. No matter how hurt they are they always attack full force. There could be 1 NPC enemy and it will suicide on a player. I could see animals doing this maybe, but not humans. Its obsurd and ridiculous. NPC's ran away when hurt in Fallout 2.
falloutdude:
yea it makes no sense ohh look 3 guys with a avenger and in ca. we are 1 dude with a mauser and 2 bitchs with spears. lets fuck em up. =/ crazy raiders.
avv:
Matter of opinion.
The way I see it hit points in game doesn't reflect character's real health. It's more like measurement of an "ability to withstand hazardous incidents". Because it isn't realistic either that you can be bursted in face and you're still standing. So when you're at 1hp you're not actually mortally injured but only full of bruises and small cuts. Once hps go below zero, that's when you really are hit. If you see things like that, the combat starts to make more sense.
Swarm:
Its a video game it isn't suppose to be realistic. I mean that's why we like these video game thingies so much can't really dress up in combat armor and run around and shoot a bunch of things with a giant mini gun in real life so we do it in video games. I never understand the people's need for realism in video games... reality sucks.
A concerned wastelander:
Indeed the AI is non existant in the game.
The worst is NPCs attacking you in northern towns while you TC in ba with a minigun, complete populations will use you for suicide assistance. You will then be accused of killing the game while you only remove the *broken* annoying NPCs.
Best would be for NPCs to run world map in certains conditions.
