Faction Alliances
« on: January 27, 2012, 02:58:21 pm »

This is an even better idea than my last suggestion http://fodev.net/forum/index.php?topic=21162.0

A faction alliance is like a normal faction but other factions join it instead of players. Faction alliance will have a base and a leader/leaders that can add/friend/enemy other factions. Only the Alliance base will be seen by all the factions. Leaders of the normal factions can accept the alliance, just like a player joining a faction.

The factions added to base will act entirely as one faction in TC. When a town is taken Alliance Name is printed in pipboy.

This will eliminate having to lvl 2-3 identical alts for each friendly faction, sharing passwords, or having to add and and resign 20 people every few hours to a faction just to help allied factions.

Agreed. Another way, or in addition to it, factions that are allied / befriended could each on their own choose to start influence gain. So if faction X wants town and is allied with faction Y, the faction Y doesint break the influence gaining by faction X and even helps them (as they are set as friend / alliance).

Well new system completely removes and slightly exploits the benefit of being friends with another faction. Everyone is expected to be in the same faction. If town is taken together, then all allied factions should get the rewards. This can remove some of the various technical tricks/exploits of the faction based influence system.

More pvp with a group of friends to take a town, or more technical tricks to squeeze the influence up? I would much rather fight with my friends than afk alone. As of right now afking alone gets more influence.

Also this system seems much easier to implement than my old method of friendly faction helping another.
