I can't really seem to find much info on Companions. Where do you find them? are they named something specific? (Makes it easier for me to find one ^_^), how much can you customize them? Can you level them up and choose their points?

Overall, any info on them.

Where do you find them?

as mentioned mostly in bars, you can find them in the courtyard like areas, and sometimes the general store or just hanging around.

are they named something specific?

you see a traveller when you use binoculars on them.

how much can you customize them?

they stick with a specific weapon style, but you can change their armor, and force them to use different weapons.

Can you level them up and choose their points?

you can level them up but no you cannot choose their points, however every time they level all of their skill-points increase by 5% (unless this information is outdated).

Im wondering that companions is way better than merc or not? They free(k maybe hard to find and need to lvl up), and if they get 5% to all skills its awsm, or smth I miss, what purpose to buy merc and loose him if they have similar fire power? Ofc muties I think must be better than companions, but just wondering who are stronger human merc or companions?

guys the merc companion trade is atm messed up we cant trade with merc or get anythings they carry without paying with caps.

Well, they all are messed up.
For example my companions can't level up but i can easily put in them and take any stuff i want as it was before wipe.

Little more detail would be nice.  and so what if you can fully customize them...?

I found all the info i need the problem is that i cant find a companion no matter how hard i look. I would say they dont exist or they choose where and when to spawn i guess.....
Cause 2 days from begging to the end i was looking for one and i didnt find any.

I was mostly camping NCR entrance and junktown streets

I also checked every city in game at lest 1 time
I full checked the cities all room all pockets everything.


I am telling you companions do no exist they are even more rare than blueprints inside lockedboxes

If i wanted to win lotto i wouldnt play fonline comeon give us some companions and some blueprints we dont ask for a nuclear warhead we just wanna play da game....


u see now that mercs suddently doesnt carry our stuff my only option for me that has good natured perkl is to find two companions and from what i see i got more chances to win lotto than to find one.....

Companions are not that difficult to find, try going to bars people usually aren't at and do it often, after awhile you will have sucess I have 5 companions in total across all of my builds so far.

So here a question: I got no Tent, Hotel whatsoever so far. So what will happen if either i die or my companion? Does he respawn along with me?

Companion will disappear.

No. They need 70 partypoints each. So you can have as much companions as your partypoints are.
