Can the AI attack for you if you time out during TB?
« on: February 19, 2010, 11:49:42 pm »

During an easy fight with a brahmin, I lagged out. I assumed the server went down because I couldn't reconnect for about 10 minutes or so. I came back to find out I died.

Rather than do nothing when your time is up, during turnbased combat, could the AI do simple attack back to at least defend yourself so that you don't get nibbled to death by rats?

Don't worry, once i crafted my first metal armor and then i died at first encounter vs brahimns too. One of them critically hit me and knockedout and then hit and hit and hit my lying body till i die. So this is FOnline, you can die really easy.

I wouldn't mind it, if it was just bad luck. I've had bad luck and been killed before in fights I should have won easily too. One critical hit that knocks you out can be the death of you.

Who knows, maybe that even happened to me after I lost connection. But since I couldn't connect for 10 minutes, I assumed it just slowly bled me to death hit by hit. I do think your character should defend yourself if you aren't connected to the game. It doesn't make much sense, from any perspective, not to. From a gameplay standpoint, its just another safety feature to protect against connection issues, and from a realism standpoint it doesn't make much sense for a character to stand there and let himself get smashed to death.
