Search for players online

Hi, everytime I play, im always curious if my friends are on. But I dont know if they are playing or not and I dont want to put the game down
anyway, my suggestion is for there to be a player search thing while still in game, you just search the name or the closes name to it
 and it shows if they are Online or offline. This could be on the menu when you press C or on the pipboy 2000 where the scratched out line is. Umm, I didnt explain this good so I hope you understand what I mean. :/

Could also be used to search for enemies being on, which gives a-priori knowlegde.


The Wasteland is not Web 2.0.

Still, you could install chat and have a room to meet friends in. Technically this also violates "wasteland purity".

So do the easiest, simplest thing: have everyone get a radio. Keep one at tent always so you never lose it.
Have an agreed channel so you can always check for each other.

Better suggest you friend take voicechat program like teamspeak, mumble etc or IRC.

Maybe some sort of "scout" NPCs in different towns, if you Ask About a character name, they will tell you if "they've seen it not so long ago" (when that character is online) and, if you then pay a certain amount of caps, they will tell you, for example, "He was last seen to the southwest".

I really like Eter idea, it would only be used by little gangs, because most other gangs had broken already the "wasteland purity" using skype, teamspeal, raidcall, IRC, etc, etc. Also many people can use it to hunt down enemyes and i like that.
