While I was witnessing the prewipe madness trying someone to hit(?) or steal(?) a GM gave me an idea. I don't know if it is possible to implement but here is my suggestion:
A craftable electric item that can be placed in your inventory, from the thiefs perspective seeming like some random item (or caps maybe?). When the thief tries to steal anything (cause he might touch the device regardless) from your inventory there should be one more roll and if it fails the thief gets hit by electric shock and if he survives he becomes unprotected also.
Needed skills: x% EW + y% TRAPS
Some idea for the roll:
The thief fails IF (crafters EW skill+crafters TRAPS skill)*owners PE*owners LUCK*(random number between 1-10)>thiefs STEAL skill*thiefs AG*thiefs LUCK*(random number between 1-10)
It has to be (re)charged with SECs or MFCs like the Geiger counter.
