No wonder with the new trading system that alot of traders don't give a shit about what you want to sell. I hardly made 13k and got 10 hides for a damn tent.
There's only so much you can do with one character and sometimes I feel like doing something different.
Are you saying you paid 13,000 caps for 10 hides? Hell, I'd sell them for 1000 caps.
I don't think anyone is complaining about having more than one character to experience different gameplay. Pre-wipe, I had two characters, one a small gun generic crafter and one a melee combat ape character. They 'lived' at opposite ends of the map and never met or interacted with one another in the slightest. The game was quite different with one or the other, so occasionally I'd pick one or the other depending on mood. I don't think anyone would have an issue with that. I think the complaint is more when someone has a 'best possible stats for peow-peow-click-click-click shooter ape', then cries because their character doesn't get much money for selling their loot, so creates a 300% barter character whose only purpose is to sell things and return the money to their ape. Then they cry because neither of their characters can craft armour, so they build a specific crafting character whose only purpose is to supply armour to their ape. Then they cry because they can't have 10 different tents at all positions on the map, so creates another 10 characters to exist only momentarily to create extra tents for their ape, and so on and so on until there are enough 'support alts' to avoid any challenge or "tough decision making" in the stats/RPG elements of the gameplay, effectively creating a multi-login equivalent of having 10 for every special and 300% in all the stats instead of communicating with other players. Of course this means that anyone else wishing to 'compete' in PVP combat has to do the same.I suppose it's a little like crying over a game of chess because your opponent won't allow you to move all of your pieces like a combination between a Queen and a Knight.

If you want to make enemies, try to change something.
Well... Amen to Luther's post. I usually play with one char. Used to have two or three chars sometimes, not as alt-builds, more like other chars, like Luther mentioned. And I find creating a char for better science, better trading etc. a simple abuse. Oh and the whole thing with helping each other out, since some players are better at crafting and some players are better at something else - well... just epic. I think that's what the game should be all about - also the gangs would make more sense. I'm sure that lot of people remember Martin Blue (that was some time ago hope i remembered the nick correctly) he was out there, mostly in NCR, offering help with crafting armours and it was damn fun. I mean - wouldn't you expect towns to have all theese crafters and traders? Well - nah, since you can just create an alt to make an armour yourself. It kills the idea of MMO if you ask me.In other words - All people using alts for their own profit should concider reanimating Fallout Tactics or creating Tactics - like server. You wouldn't have to bother with relogging, duals etc.
