Server is up,but updating goes on for eternity with ''checking''...


This is frustrating...I want to join the other wastelanders...what s wrong with updater..?if server is on,the host is 94.23.237.127 port 4040,it should work no problem,no..?


Please,some clue,i am desperate.Even a ''soon'' works fine *laughs*

thats all what u need, unzip it in main folder, and set again critter and master in config, that was all what i done and its "working". Hard to say that its working cos server its still crashing

Can't do that since crittrer/master needs to be set in config2238 which DOESN'T WORK (nor was it working before the wipe - but then that config wasnt needed.... now it is)

(i wrote the error message 3 posts above... might be a clue...)

sory, didnt read Your post above. i would try to create all from begining, maybe some crash on unziping done it. bye the way server is still down so fuck it mate and change a game

With some facepalming and thinking afterwards i finally made the client work... (even without config2238 running)

I have downloaded the package with "january client", but I'm unable to run the game for some reason.

When I run the game, it generates me menu, filled with "Error" at each postition.

Tried to clear the cache files, which is what I usually do in this kind of situation, but it didn't work.

Any advices?

It says online for me.

The problem might be me not being able to update right, because the updater keeps on downloading "faction.zip".

WTF is this?! Second night server was on, but when a day is starting and we could play like a normal people, there are crashs all the time and roll backs. This server is for "NO LIFES" to play in the night time, or to players from other time areas, or its just for friends of GMs to get quick lvls, stuff, bases, TCs- without roll backs??? there was year talking about wipe, now will be year talking about to balance a server.

Which step are you at?

1. Install Fallout 2
2. Download and extract this http://www.speedyshare.com/file/ZGnCq/2238Client-PostwipeJanuary2012.zip somewhere
3. Open Notepad and add the paths to these two files which are in your fallout 2 folder
C:\Games\fallout2\data\master.dat
C:\Games\fallout2\data\critter.dat
then save the file as DataFiles2238.cfg in your FONLINE folder
4. Run launcher and update
5. play

I hope I didn't miss anything.
