i get it in 2 hours! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh am so excited!
also fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu haters dont dis the elder scrolls i love it. :D
elder scroll is bethesda's baby let them have this one with no disrespect.
No.

For console players bethesda's games are an absolute fuckin kick to the balls.

For PC players who do not want to have their balls bloodied and bruised they still get a nice, well-placed kick unless they have a really good computer with at least a decent graphic card.  It's not as much a powerful kick in the balls, but a painful one nonetheless.

besides that...

Bethesda is fucking lazy, they can't beta-test any of their games correctly, or just don't do it at all.  And despite some really good to their games despite the bugs, they're just not really well-executed on what they're supposed to be.  AN RPG.  Oh and I love this excuse in defense of the group of twats:

[not directed at quoted]
"but bu- bu- they're games are really mod-friendly!!!!!"

Are you insane you bethesda mod-zombie??!  You're developing content for a game YOU PAID for JUST BECAUSE BETHESDA IS TOO LAZY/MONEY-GRUBBING TO WORK ON THEIR OWN DAMN GAMES! and because of that crowd of zombies, bethesda doesn't have to spend their own bloody money on it themselves!! They just set up basics and let everyone else work for them, FOR FUCKING FREE!  I swear bethesda is making just about every last one of you it's bitch and you should be ashamed.  Shuuuuunnnnn!  SHUUUUNNNN!

p.s.  I'll be getting this for xbox-360 on Christmas since my computer is too sucky for it...

p.p.s  It's not really hating the elder scrolls, it's hating shit-head bethesda for what they've done to an amazingly original and clever franchise.

I have not checked this thing or pretty much anything, because I just really don't care about the game that much, but sincerely it's not that wrong to remove some unnecessary stuff

The mindset of the new generation of gamers (tm)

hey let's just remove some stats lol, no one cares about numbers

yeah let's remove it, rather than improve it lol

This is why we can't have nice things.

fuck this shit

Only thing I hate about it until now is the menu and the fact I can't asign weapons/spells to my numbers on the keyboard. Otherwise, i hiked for 2 hours tonight. Quite big fun!

I'm not mad at the missing stats, but I liked the way Oblivion handeld it by giving you bigger stat increase for stats which related skill you used most for the level up.

Still my Nord Bandit has much fun backstabing other Bandits, yelling "Giveth thy lute loot!"

What this crappy game is all about:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rt5aUdijAN8&feature=related

Because Skyrim is the first, only and exclusive game where you can exploit ingame mechanics.

To the people telling it's a buggy piece of shit I want to remind that Fallout 2, awell as many other similar games were almost unplayable at release due to the amount of bugs. Don't want to glorify Skyrim here, but such problems are hardly Bethesda exclusive.

One question: is that game challenging?

Because Skyrim is the first, only and exclusive game where you can exploit ingame mechanics.

It just looks sillyer when you're face to face with those "realistic" npcs.

I'm not sure how to respond to this and still stay correct.
Well, your new generation of players been playing the series since the very first game, called Arena if you remember that.
And no, no matter whether it was TES series, Baldur's Gate, Ultima, Fallout or arbitrary dungeon crawler, numbers were never the reason why the game was fun. Sheet full of numbers perhaps worked within dumbed down Diablo II or other rather shallow games, but good games always made player feel happy from his accomplishments without having him dig through numbers.
For record I think the actually best experience ever in computer game I had was when playing Stonekeep, where only numbers you could see were your health and charges on your runecasters. Heck even numbers in Dungeon Master were more like : "OK, you did some damage." as you were not given any info on enemy health, but you could compare how effective your blows were. Something like what can be done today with graphics. But of course that you can't never accept. You need your sheet of numbers and descriptions.

I play as a nord, using one hand sword as an example, and now its mostly one hit wolfs, draugr and so on.

its way too easy, not much challenge, enter a dungeon. kill all with one blow, except restless draugr wich needs 5-6 blows.

Its dumbed down quite a lot since oblivion, and shitloads since morrowind. no more stats just skills, and you pick when you level up more hp, magicka or stamina.

Too easy? Raise difficulty to max then ;p
Don't know how it'll affect Skyrim, but in Morrowind at max difficulty little mudcrab almost killed me with 1 blow, while I missed almost all hits on him, haven't tried raising difficulty in Skyrim, as I just started and wasn't playing much it yet.
About skills, they oriented character building on perks, each time you level up, you choose a skill and there're a lot perks in each skill tree. But I agree that removing classic attributes was dumb. Of course morrowind+oblivion stats increase system was stupid (hmm, I need to raise speed, agility and strength on max this level, going to trainer and increase my non-main hand-to-hand, blunt and marksman skills on 10), but it doesn't mean that they should remove those stats at all.
Also I don't know if there will be a level scale - one of the stupidest things in most RPGs: Hey I leveled! So what? Everyone else leveled with you anyway. If level scale will be there, then I hope construction set for Skyrim will be released soon (if it's not already), so at least I can remove this silly thing myself.

So higher difficulty reduces player's dealt damage and increases enemy's damage. Yeah very original. Doesn't it only increase the player's consumption of healing supplies?

What would you do to increase combat difficulty other than damage dealt/receive scaling? Adding even more enemies to the brawl? In most dungeons you are faced 4-5 enemies at the same time and they fuck you up on expert difficulty when you get surrounded. I play Skyrim on expert as assassin with 1 tank companion and the fights are enjoyable and not "slash slash you're dead! not big surprise" - you need to pick targets for you and your companion, you need to use your shouts intelligent to crowd-control and most of it all: you need to drink heal/buff potions (which, on lower difficulty is just waste of space in inventory) and use buff spells. Otherwise every boss gives you a pretty good ass whipin.
