1. How long is the encounter open for other players?
2. Is there any way to counter Heavy Handed?
3. Is it true that the more outdoorsman you got the more likely somebody will bump into your encounter (with less out)?

1. As long as you are there. Even 1 second before you leave, other player can enter and get info like "You encounter molerats and Senocular", even if molerats are dead already.

1. Ten minutes, you can chceck with radio in hands giving help signal, if it says its "too late for help" then enco is closed.
2. Kill?
3. Someone can got forced to your enco/trap if you got higher outdoors.

No, they still can encounter you, even if you can't make a signal, they can find you by walking on that square over and over and come and come and come like zombies, especially if it's TB, then you may not be able to kill them because of lack of bullets.
The only locations that are close after 10 minutes or whatever are cars. Simply encounter still can be found.

Forgot to ask - if I encounter player in TB mode (he is fighting with scorpions), I need to end combat/kill everyone first to get back to the car?
