TTTLA controlled gecko area?
« on: August 17, 2011, 06:03:40 am »

I remember hearing something about how the TTTLA was going to annex Gecko and run mine like they do in Redding. I was wondering if anything came from this or if they plan to do so in the near future. I for one would appreciate a safe place to mine and craft and TTTLA don't seem that bad if your not a griefer. Anyone know if this is true or happening?

I am TTTLA and I don't even know if it's true :D

But currently Redding is owned by the Sarmatians and they are good guys who keep the town safe to mine but maybe you are more interested in Gecko...

I just love the current state of Gecko mine. It's not like Reno, where you get a plasma-bolt at every second corner, but still you meet mid-level shotgunners, grenadiers, even stabbers occasionally. Thou if one stays there for too long, righteousness appears, usually in a combat armor.

I'll admit a little PK activity is fine but spawn camping and such is not. The GM's don't have the time/patience to make sure nobody goes and camps mine unfairly. I've heard good thing about the mine in Redding and would appreciate if some group could do similar thing in Gecko. I have heard a lot from people who say the server population is divided into those who PK and those who mine, craft, and PvE. The mine is a place where the first half crosses over undesirably with the second.

Well, the last session, during which TTTLA was created, our base spawned near Gecko, so we had the habits to come often there with something like 10 guys in BA to clean it of PKs, and mine a little while securing it. At the beginning of this session, we done the same with Redding mine (and bought base until we had one just near it). But now, we are not quite as many as we were, we let Redding to Samartians and have abandoned patrol in mines, mostly cause we don't need to craft anymore. So, there is very little chance to see us secure a mine this session.
Though, if organized PK group or a merc trap is settled here, we usually gonna clean it with our allies when warned (TTTLA were there during the last operation to clean mine of the slave trap).

The problem is that players don't give enough informations about PKs and raiders like you do.
Usually we are said : "hey I've been killed 100 times in the mine of Gecko and TTTLA never helped me you are useless anti-PK gang bla bla bla"
In the past we had a radio channel to be warned about that and allow us to do something but raiders gangs used this channel to organize traps. So now in the game we don't have any good feature to help with communication in that way exept the forum.

Just thought I'd say Congrats to TTTLA for their recent conquests of Gecko and such. You can't escape the long arm of the law.
