Tracking, still not implemented?
« on: August 17, 2011, 01:39:02 am »

Hey all, I used to play back in 2009 and have returned for round 2 Two. I was a semi popular enforcer if anyone remembers "WarTooth" that was me.

Anyways, around the time i stopped playing, tracking was a very popular discussion that always seemed to come up, and i remember the dev's were saying they were very close to implementing it. Well, the reason i came back is I figured tracking would be in Fonline by now and I was very excited too, but it looks like nothings happened. So what's going on?

And I believe a later discussion was brought into play and a Dev said that it would not return do to the issues it cause.  But that may have changed, lord only knows.

tracking in my humble opinion would be used for trolling new players, the server need this feature?

Allow people to sieze map squares to construct tents that can be turned into bases incrementally. This would not count against or use the regular tent/base process, and these self-made bases may be subject to tracking.

Regular stuff would be as before.

On the WM perhaps tracking could be used as a hunting mode to increase PvE encounters, and realistically also PvP- but maybe keep it just PvE.

Otherwise people would just make super trackers and grief.

I wouldn't really mind if all of the exemptions were left out and tracking were just implemented as a hardcore realistic thing.

The exemptions would be a compromise to keep more players.
