Suggestions regarding followers

Things that should be done after upcoming wipe:

-no global limit for followers or at least make it charisma based, 3 charisma - 30 followers in total, 9 charisma - 90 followers in total etc. I know the limit was added due to overswarming bases with slaves but it was at the times when selling/buying slaves wasn't possible
-ability to tame not only cows but also dogs (if they can be bought why we can't tame them ourselves?)
-ability to lvl up any slave including dogs, not only those with base HP
-make HP of merc bought charisma based not luck based, hardly any leader can take as much as 6 or 10 luck
-various commands for followers like "dont attack under any circumstances" and "use specific weapon" (so they don't use spears when they have shotguns in their inventory)

Are you really serious with this suggestion?
We see 90 mutant mercs after this which sounds daaamn bad against now normal 5 mutant mercs..

I would add here no CH requirement while driving a car, so any PvP-ape can carry d00dz with him, without proxy-taxi-alt character.

90 followers? Wow. A bit outnumbered, don't you think? Do we really need another "Mabus-clones" in Gecko mine every day?

I mean the global limit. You could have as much followers as you want just not with yourself. You could still carry only 5 at a time, while leaving the rest in your base/tent.

Hmm.. but still even with 3CH 30 followers?
So you could carry 2 slaves/mercs and others 28 stay at tent/base?

Actually you can carry only one follower with 3ch. Few wipes ago there was no limit and you could hold as many slaves in your base as you could catch. I see nothing wrong with this.

I find those numbers a bit excessive but it would be nice to be able to have 15-20 slave stockpile so selling them would be nicer (instead of I've got 5 trappers on this guy, 4 ghouls on this one etc) NEED SLAVE PEN!  ;D

Taming dogs is a nice idea

Pretty sure slaves not lvling up is a bug

HP of merc should be semi random (EW merc can have between 100-160 hp die roll on what it will be obviously those numbers are made up)

It was mentioned that the follower menu will be implemented or something along those lines so that should help with telling them what to do.

Easily fixed Mabus problem with this suggestion would be you can only take out whatever the new limit is going to be after the wipe from your tent/base into cities/mines/etc and if you try to get more to follow you simply can't leave the map with them in tow.

  I actually find it being based on luck a good thing, see how you have to sacrifice much as a Leader character in order to have stronger followers in the end.
You can be a tougher slaver, or a weaker slaver with stronger buddies.

Look there for the suggestion named "Taming Animals". And just to point, i'm not angry, just a little pissed off. It's the 3rd time that i find one of my suggestions claimed by others. Sorry for being rude.

If you look at the Player Tracked Suggestion List, taming of animals was suggested as far back as February 2010. It's not unlikely it was suggested before that, and not unlikely that it's been suggested 15 times since. It's not a matter of "people stealing your ideas", but rather the fact that some ideas will appear every couple of months, either because they're good suggestions, or because there are only a limited number of solutions to some things, so similar ones will crop up.

Each time such a thing is suggested, there'll normally be a slightly different take on it, or it's as part of a different overall suggestion - for example, the one in this thread is a sub-point amongst a suggested overhaul of all followers. Ultimately, if something's a good idea, slight variations are going to be suggested every few months. Each time it may be slightly different. Eventually, one of the devs may conclude an ideal solution from all the similar suggestions, and it may get implemented.

I would think it would be far more beneficial to say "I had a similar idea here, what do you think of doing it this way?" and then to discuss the relative merits of such ideas, rather than getting pissed off about who has 'stolen' whose ideas.

Don't worry about it, and no need to apologise to me. Just a case of "similar versions of ideas will crop up repeatedly", and if they're good ideas, everyone will have a slight variation on how they think it should be done - they'll inspire other users to think about what has been written, who will then try to develop the ideas further. So yeah, don't worry about apologising, but instead look at how this suggestion and your suggestions can be combined into a super-suggestion :)

Back on topic, I'd mostly agree with what Slaver Snipe wrote above, with the addition of Michaelh139's comment regarding Merc HP. Particularly like the thought about a slave pen, which I suppose could be extended to a Brahmin pen or something suchlike - somewhere to store your 'spares'.

Honestly, the global limit thing should be scrapped all together, but when you tell a slave or merc or dog to "wait here, and take a break." it frees up the slot, but also makes them completely inactive, and they would only defend themselves if someone shot them, so no massive base traps.
