The Last Stand: Union City
« on: August 01, 2011, 12:02:59 pm »

the best zombie survival flash game returns with a new title: Union City

This time you will make your own survivor and try to survive the zombie infected city

but the game looks a lot like fallout, there are some settings and easter egs that remind us of the game we love:

char creation looks allmoast like Fallout one("SPECIAL"="SEPIL", skills that have name changed...)

found item: bottle cap(descr:wonder if this will become curency)

barther sistem and quests

well, find it for yourself: http://armorgames.com/play/12009/the-last-stand-union-city

have fun!

Looked good in a beggining (except i chose an it specialist class and i wasnt able to kill more than one zombie at the time before i reached level 2 and pumped my skillpoints into melee), but it ended up with looking for 8+ sword instead of 7+. Those 30 (or more) zombie waves out of nowhere after first half of the game, become more of a piss-off than horror element (if you don't have combat powerbuild, you most likely die in many of them no matter what) and game becomes more of a clickfest than survival horror. Also more than half of the storyline sufferes from the "too late" syndrome (by the time you move where your wife is supposed to be, she's not there anymore)

Quests were mostly go there find this and that, go back, and except 3 or 4 they weren't voluntary. As for the "barter" system, I wasn't able to figure out how to sell my stuff (unless there is a way to sell my stuff i wouldn't there to call it barter), and apart from medkits which i needed to use for some achievement i never found anything valuable in the shop.

Nevertheless the scarcity of food in survivor mode forcing you to explore almost everything was quite a good thing.

I'd say the first 2 games were better than this (though they were barricade shooters).

I've didn't needed much Time to complete the Game, but for sure there are many Bugs. Horrible Bugs. But it's totally awesome if you finished on Hard mode, load your Completed save and collect "undefined". 143 pounds + undefined = undefined = Carry as much you want. But I also lost as example one Follower, because I wasn't able to Help him up again. I would like to see an Good version. many Updates required there.

Google chrome problems explained.

Internet Explorer Everything is bright yellow once i get to the ingame (after first car cutscene)  http://www.imagebam.com/image/baff55145554466

Firefox, I need a plugin that doesn't exist...

Game seems broken entirely if you ask me, seems like he released it before it was even ready for general population, in other words, many people who could betatest can't even get in game and as I read in a thread he says google problems he isn't going to fix because it isn't him.

Best flash game in months and a large percentage of people are gettin screwed over from it.

Dude, for the love of god, no sane person uses the Internet Explorer.. It is incredibly lulzy if people complain about stuff when it's mostly a broken browser they use (IE...) or Flash/Java etc is outdated (updating this is something I'd suggest to you aswell.).

As for the game, I am not sure if the world needs just another Zombie Survival Game, or a game filled with tropes made popular with Fallout 3. Don't get me wrong, it's decent, played it for about an hour, but why does it always have to be fucking Zombies? The character system is really good and I like the mechanics, but it seems like a big pile of wasted potential on this one.

I use Google Chrome too, apart from the game running pretty slow (which is due to my crappy pc) there's no problem. Just keep your Flash and stuff updated.

Zombies are just simpler to do.  Make zombie, make other kinds of zombie, script to attack.  Done.  That's why they're so popular with flash games.

I'm having the same problem as McLooter (using Google Chrome). Gonna try with Firefox.

While it loads.

I am not sure if the world needs just another Zombie Survival Game, or a game filled with tropes made popular with Fallout 3.

The zombie in itself has become quite a dumb thing, but I can have hope for any new zombie game/movie. Most of the time is just the same old crap but for example I really liked 28 Days Later, not because there were zombies but because of how the story twists when the characters meet the military. How power is managed in the "zombie apocalypse", etc.

Anyway, works in Firefox. Seems promising!
