Gifted.. that cursed trait from Fallout 2.. it should stay there and never come to 2238 (Even modified, it's still same)

That means you'll get raped by thieves if you try to trade very easily, since if you pull your gun out to shoot thieves, you might shoot someone else to.

not really, I have managed to not get thieved without a gun many times.

Best rework for gifted trait is to keep it out of the game.

yea, agreed. It sounds like we are talking about a rabid trait rather than a gifted trait anyway. I'm pretty sure that was a deathclaw perk in FoT

Well, main trouble with this trait is the drawback is not enough against the reward: you win +7 SPECIAL, and loose only 2.5 SPECIAL (not counting the -10% to all basic stats which don't really matter). What about a +2 SPECIAL points against a -4 skill points each level. It would really be a choice: more SPECIAL but less skill, in a balanced way (4SP each level is 2 Int).

I guess you might take educated perk to try to regain some of those skill points. Problem is we don't (or I don't) know what the perk system will look like next season but apparently there will be more perk slots which might make it too easy to get those SP back.

other than that its a nice rework though

what about making it so that taking gifted does penalise you when placing points into combative skills, why else would the character have not studied combat as much? He/she was a peace lover. Much like having to place more points to raise the level when you raise the skill to >100% have a smaller penalty from the get go.

Just an idea i havent fully fleshed out with numbers so feel free to butcher it.
