Lets make event in bar where every person in bar takes one shot of vodka irl while his char takes one shot of vodka ingame. I tried it once with my friend on mumble. xD

I've been doing that with whisky, it makes it easier to role-play ;)

I think it would be great to see this happen. Coincidently I just made a throwing character called 'Sober Barfly'. Mabye there could be some kind of darts game that could correlate with throwing skill.
Would love to listen to some jazzy retro music while chatting. Only problem I could think of is that most bars are quite small and bunched up people is a inevitable bomb magnet. Might need some bouncers at the door to brush people down before they enter.  ;D

I also alway thought that bars were rather small, but i also always though there was more space to expand them, especialy in the Hub. But then again, better bars could have armed goons that could (like guards) detect explosives. Why not implement a classic "put your piece down" law in the bars, to of course make them safer and in of make barfights more challenging? Maybe empty bottles could be used as disposable melee weapons, along with shivs (small, handmade, concealable knives) and the inevitable fists, Mr. President.

I like this idea. Nothing would be more atmospheric then some good ol', light-hearted knife fighting along with some jovial music and chatter. It would also be good if there was a system like casino's in New Vegas where all weapons are left at the doors except for those things that are more concealable. Perhaps this could be the time for the reign of the Needler Pistol?  ;D

And please, such pleasantries are not necessary. Call me Dick.

I guess this hasn't been implemented yet, any word on when this might become a possibility?

If someone has some cool suggestions for more of these songs (we are actually able to do whole playlists now) which happen to be under the creative commons (=meaning we can't take any commercial songs), please send them to me in a PM. I want to make  huge library of these songs so it doesnt get boring for the people while we wait for our superiors to implement the feauture. ;)

I'll definitely hunt for more when I have a bit of time.

Anyone else who has a song in mind or just wants to hunt around for material, you can start your search here http://www.archive.org/index.php, a large database of media in the public domain with ogg format available for download in most (audio) cases.

happy hunting!

I just want to add my two cents that looking for songs keep ears open for "western" songs that would give a feeling of a cowboy walking into a saloon in the wild west ;)

I personally suggest Country ("western") music for the bars in Junktown, Modoc, Redding, Klamath and the Den, and Jazz, Blues, and all those more "urban" kinds of music for the rest, Shady Sands, the Hub, New Reno, etc...

+1

we can all tag our links for either category to make it easier on Surf.

would it be possible to set up a separate playlist for each bar? it would add a great uniqueness and perhaps even incentive to visit different locations (for players like me anyway).

afterthought: If we can stream now (or soon) would it one day be possible to have an actual waste-wide (or region specific) radio station(s) which we can recieve on our radios? because that would be awesome.
