You were at Den, then one guy in metal armor and rocketlauncher pressed "A" button and then left-click on you. Then in 3 minutes you again in Den. I my own opinion, it's not really retarded. It makes death a real penalty, when it was only an amusement before.

The penalty from death comes from losing your gear. If you want to make death a penalty, focus on that. People don't like waiting around in video games. Being at the mercy of a countdown that tells you you can't do basic things frustrates people.

When you die, you want to get back ingame and start working on that setback. But you can't. Not for a while. You've got to wait for the death timeout while someone emotes shitting in your mouth. Then there's weakening. Then there's getting your HP back. Why? You've already lost everything you were carrying, and you've got to trek back to your tent to rearm yourself. It's not like you'd be going back where you died in 10 seconds ready to pounce on the guy that killed you if the death/weakening/random locations didn't exist.

I don't get how it makes the game better. You've already lost what you're carrying and the time it took to get those items, why isn't that enough? The problem is that after death the game is wasting your time just for the hell of it. There's already the pain in the ass of losing your stuff to either the wastes or some random yokel, but now you're dumped in the middle of buttfuck nowhere and have to trek back to your tent.

Yeah, I know you can doctor your way out of it, but then what's the point in having it at all? It may as well be 'Levels 5+ don't get weakening'. It's hard to justify when it, as a penalty, won't apply to half the players. There are better ways to make doctors useful than this.

What I do like, though, is that rentable rooms become your new spawn point. I really was impressed by that, I think it's an intelligent and useful gameplay mechanic. You've died, but you can get back on your feet soon enough and you're out of harms way. It'd be great if you took that further, though, and had rooms become the primary place people live. There'd have to be some infinite 'Motel Basement' maps, but I think it'd be a very good way of pushing players into towns.

Except death does not always mean losing your gear.

Except death does not always mean losing your gear.

But if the recently dead has someone to hold his gear for him, one of them is also likely to be skilled enough with doctor to cancel out weakening.

I'd like harsher penalties for death if death wasn't so common. And if there were consequences for being the kind of person who shoots strangers in the face.

If your death was you fucking up, or losing a fairly even fight, I'd be fine with it. But I think in many cases we're punishing a player for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The only pain I get is the respawn point west of The Den - so much time wasted, since I don't play there. Its so far away from civilization.
Maybe the respawn points should be more centred on the map?

It's clear to me you have no idea about PvP now and before wipe, and before..  Close resp point was always abused, when one was killed in city, he resped near, visited a tent 1 pixel from the city, took rocket launcher and jacket from the tent and returned to the battle. Neeeeeverending stooooooory..!!!

hmm i think spawn near a Random city was better many times u shoot from random encounters and can walk again and again and again ect.
every time u are 2 or 3 hex away from ur target city/Tent/Base and u can wait 5 6 mins more again

I prefer kill a thousand time the same guy who come again and again, or be killed a thousand time by the same guy than come back to Klamath with 30% outdoors after a respawn at Glow.

A solution for spawn point camping would be just to make spawn points for each area.

For example, put 4 spawn points around the Den, each at a different distance away so it's random and if you die in the Den or one of its spawn points you go to a different one.

Szef said it all, it made PvP a complete joke. Spawning to hotels is available if you want to control your respawning.

yes but you get Exp for using Doctor on urself when you are weakened :P but i have to admit it is annoying that you cannot heal urself after death, in other words wasting MORE time doing nothing while you could be getting exp for killing shit

Is it possible to lock towns once a battle for control starts? How do you control who enters and doesnt enter an area when you have events? It seems like alot of changes that are made to prevent abusers from running this server usually end up hurting average players. If everyone is allowed to enter a town only once over the course a town control battle you wouldnt need to spawn everyone else on the whole server in East Bumblefuck.
