Banks pay interest if they have the money. Obviously there is so much stored away that any money generated is no where near enough to cover 1% interest payments ... so it always shows as 0%

Yes, and additionally, it may pay you good to move your assets to a smaller bank with less reserves (like SF or some "odd" place). They will generally give you at least some interest.

well, i like to keep my cash stored away in my tent just so that i can take out money at any given time no matter how many bombers are on, it's usual for suicides to go for the bank and that cripples the economy for 1-3 hours while you wait for the npc to glue himself back together.

Just don't ever use the bank in BH. I lost 15k once because someone zoned in right as I was leaving town with my cash(the place had been a graveyard for the last 30 min, bad luck).

while my question isn't about the interest rates, it does have to do with the banking system.

About joint accounts. My wife (who shares a computer with me only until I fix my video card) made her bank account a joint account, but when she tried to add me as being allowed to access it told her invalid username. My actual questions are:

1) does my own account have to be upgraded to use this? (and yes, I'm using the same cities bank)

2) is it working properly? Or are capitols invalid characters when inputting usernames?

I suppose we could just keep to what we've been doing, which is simply depositing money into the other's account.

Nope, only one account has to be upgraded.

2) is it working properly? Or are capitols invalid characters when inputting usernames?

If it hasn't been changed, you should use lowercase characters in the inputbox when naming the character, even if the character's name contains caps.
