Need some help finding Brahmin
« on: May 26, 2011, 12:09:57 am »

Ok so I was searching for some Brahmin for the resources needed for my tent. I've played the game in the past and remembered finding some south of the Hub so I went there. I searched for a while (by going into the triangle, leaving then just clicking it from the same spot). I didn't find one and I reloaded the square enough times to account for any random chance of not finding one. I tried walking around so I would get an encounter but it was always Hub Patrol vs Something, didn't find anything with Brahmins.

So basically do I still find them in the grid south of the Hub? If so do I need to do something to find them, or is there a better place to go for them altogether?

Thanks!

You might want to use the FOnline Encounter Finder, which you can fiund on this site (an awesome job by Opera).

In the particular case of Brahmins, wandering around Modoc will give you better results.

Best of luck.

I'm on the encounter finder now, is there anyway to scroll the map, it seems to only show a few cities.

Also I'll try the area you suggested, thanks :D

Move the "camera" around by holding right mouse button. Just like you do in the 2238 World Map. Also, notice the "filters" on the left.

Oh and forgot to say, that tool is -I think, not 100% sure- a bit outdated, but is still very helpful :)

Ah, I didn't know you could move the world map in game either :P So thanks for that as well.

No one mentioned that you can no more find a random brahmin in maps and alongside encounters anymore.  You have to find an actual (Wild) Brahmins encounter, which I usually do near Modoc. Finding the other spots has always been more trouble.

Hey Dahui!

In the north Modoc is the place for Brahmins.

In the south I always get them in the square below HUB and the square west of the one below HUB.
Might take some time, since encounters have from 2 to 4 brahmins usually.

Ok great thanks.

and thanks Gatling, you answered the question I was about to ask, which was do I find them by walking around or actually entering the triangle thing

thanks a lot guys, the forums been a great help so far, more helpful than a few PKers I met who killed me (for a 10mm pistol, rounds and a primitive tool, noble guys :P) I wouldn't have the game any other way though ;D

if you want to find brahmin my advice would be for you to look in 30:8 square near vault city. In that square only raiders and brahmins can appear so its kinda fast way to get your hides and not too dangerous.

stop trolling here

so in conclusion:
1. use The FEF
2. Near Modoc are moast brahmins
3. Other locations are not recomended(i find brahmins near hub too, but way harder than Modoc)
4. Stop trolling(i think i can't say this since in these comunity even the moderators are trolls)
