Author Topic: Another roleplaying proyect: GM's role-playing as Sheriffs  (Read 1749 times)

So, first of all, gm's are also persons and they also want to (and deserve to) have fun. Why dont they roleplay as normal players do? My idea is to make special sprites or models for them such as Sheriffs or Policeman so that they'd  behave like such.

Let me explain better: GMs would act as law keepers and also would  have outstanding power ( like 1000hp and whatever...) however, never invincible. Why invincible? The purpose is to challenge another players to play as bad guys ( it wouldn't have any fun if there were no possibility of defeating gm-sheriff).

What would improve this role-playing project?
  • We all know the limited IA of the town guards. IA is ridicuolus comparing to human mind ,just go for a while ncr and have a look to new exploits everyday. So, Which is the best way to defend other players against human inteligence? Another human inteligence!. So many of the exploiting problems in towns could be solve with this role-playing GMs acting as law keepers
  • This will also improve the GM's efficacy because they would be having fun!

Sounds interesting...

I don't know how much fun the 'GMs' would have listening to people whine about getting killed which would no doubt entail playing a role like a Sheriff or a Police Officer. I'm fairly sure that alot of Moderators roleplay anyway. Just yesterday I saw a Tribal shoot his Fire Gecko in NCR and then run off like a speeding bullet to eat it.

What I'm all for however is having some form of justice for bluesuits who get gunned down by people they couldn't possibly even scratch or bruise let along kill. There use to be a 'bounty' system that was removed a little while back and hasn't re-implemented. I'm really not even sure how many people use the bounty system anyway...

even if their intent is to rp i reckon a larger portion of the player base will be shouting in the town that they are in for skins etc

GMs are too lazy for your project. Sad truth.

The hub roleplay project failed due to the usual kids having to ruin other peoples fun by suicide bombing the place all the time. Wouldn't waste a single second on it again....
too bad. but (actual) 14 people said they like the idea to start again these projects, 10 people said they dont like...  :-\

There are already many *APK* gangs, dont think GMs should interfere in players business (unless they play legit characters, not npc with 1000hp).

Not that they need it anyways, they already have 40+ player swarms at their disposal.

You can't do any meaningful APK in "protected" towns. You can only play "who is bigger troll" game.

Well yes, if the idea is just to make *guarded towns* really guarded, then players would have no reason to leave guarded towns since they really would be safe with an omniscient god watching over them.

Guarded towns should be made less attractive if they are to be trully safe haven, vendors and services should be limited to low level, giving a reason for players to explore the rest of the game and be forced to take risks.
