Preview system
« on: April 21, 2011, 07:24:26 am »

I was thinking on a better system to preview the cities, the current system is very weak, slow and exhausting, so I thought of a way to speed up and hope all like
and entering into work in the game, because I believe that will improve 110%: D

the basics, a name to identify where we are looking at the map, map buttons to each other to exchange quickly, and a button refresh that reload the page quickly giving us a new image location.

not have to match the pictures, but something about that:)

Those pictures won't load, atleast for me. Maybe you can host them elsewhere?

Not a bad idea, actually. Good to have some hotkeys for it, as well

I still can be reached over e-mail if you somehow need anything from me. Don't see a reason why you would, but if you do, e-mail remains the safest bet, as I do not visit this forum reliably anymore.

Making previews even more effective? Yes, totally for it! Also add a "Spawn lings" button or "Nuke area" so you won't need to go into town at all.

Oh come on that's kind of unfair.  Current TownPreview is really annoying this would ease it up.  It's not like it won't be used in such a fashion either way unless its completely removed.....

It is possible to rework it and not making it looking more like a spygame. For example, pressing Preview button could just pop up a message that says "It seems there are corpses in this area" (or no corpses), or even "It seems some people are standing near the exit of the town." (or no people). This way it's still useful, and it's less magical/wargame-esque.

I play a game in which more than 200 players, but not in the cities. They stand on the world map and click on preview - zero interaction with other players.

They just need to soften PvP at exits, because of some delicate balance reasons. There were some positively recieved threads on it already.

As for previes, if they do exist is there any reason for them not being realtime?
