Fort Seth, potential for Player Base?
« on: April 12, 2011, 03:30:10 am »

I've been looking at Fort Seth for around an hour now, and just thought, it's currently unused, but has an amazing set up/lay out, and might make a good player base.

Basically, I'm suggesting converting the map Fort Seth into a buyable faction base, with it's spawn south of NCR, purchased from Junktown (Or NCR) and costing approx. 1m~ caps.

It would give players something to strive for past bunker base, and it looks completely awesome, and has great potential for a base.

(If I'm correct, the main large building in the back has an armory styled room that could be a possible keycode combination to enter, with an interface similar to radio, that could be changed by any important member + leader.

Feedback welcome :)

Edit: Some changes could be adding fruit + fibers, junk, still, water pump, meat table, etc.

Maybe an underground style map that is similar to entrance of bunker, with ores and minerals? sort of like a personal mine, but no slaves or hq materials.

It sounds cool, but the fact that they actually gave it a name last update must mean they have other plans for it.

Not sure if I like the idea. I don't like the fact that player factions can have so much power but at the same time be independent from NPC factions. And with your suggestion, every single armed group formed by random wastelanders could have access to the same stuff than groups which are supposed to be "the largest" (the NCR, the Enclave, etc.), including an uber base.

It sounds cool, but the fact that they actually gave it a name last update must mean they have other plans for it.

I don't know if they actually have "other plans" for it. But the fact that it's "Fort Seth" and not just plain "military base" is important in itself.

Well if they do  have plans for it, they could always implement it as new a player base, It'll still make an interesting base that would be much better for larger sized factions.

It's not really an "uber" base. I mean, it seems like the bunker is more "uber" then this would be, I mean, it's an underground military bunker, with most of it intact.

i like this idea i was thinking this too but i think sense theres not troops there right now i say make it a place to fight for and the winners get to use it as a uber awesome base kinda like domination mode.

i find the suggestion useless, we have too many bases in junktown/necropolis region, since all town control is in north, bases should be concentrated there so i think harold in gecko would be much better.

replace the outpost spawn with this base, and move outpost up to gecko/vault city?

Well, not those , why would there be a southern-looking Outpost base up there? The current Outpost matches the area you can buy it in very well.

I can see what you mean, but the outpost seems more of a rural style base that would fit in better up north.

compare that, to

http://www.fo2238.fodev.net/wiki/images/thumb/f/f2/Base-gasstation-camp.jpg/800px-Base-gasstation-camp.jpg

and then compare it to fort seth.

It seems like the current outpost is a more of a campsite set up that trappers would use to defend themselves from raiders. The style of buildings around NCR is more the white wall, more urban environment that Fort Seth looks a bit more like :P
