I think they are working on ways to fix Alt exploits, so there is no need to limit 1 character.
Part of the fun of fallout is trying different characters/builds -.- as well as just about any other rpg out there.

so far you only want to get rid of cars because you got them jacked?
and my ideas of synergy is WAYYY better than merging BG SmG  ^_^

What I see potentionaly for merge:
Barter+Speech
Unarmed+Melee
First Aid+Doctor
With gambling being removed completly?

It's however not like bigger amount of skill hurts, when they are ignored anyway.

I believe the number of skills is a huge factor in the amount of alts, and slimming them down would make a huge difference. How many are there? 18? But I also believe that no skills will be merged. Ever. Because that's not how it was done in Fallout 1/2.

Gambling/Traps/Doctor characters 4 lyfe

By this logic we shouldn't have many features (RT combat for example) implemented in 2238. In essence, this game is an MMO, where you cannot directly apply single player aspects without proper balance, and sometimes you can never apply them (take bounties for example). Therefore, glaring faults in the game, such as alts, require radical changes that stray away from the FO1/2 mechanics. What made FO1/2 special is the atmosphere (a post nuclear world, among other things), I don't see how altering mechanics can change the atmosphere of a game. I prefer a functional MMO, than a half broken MMO with obsolete single player mechanics, because lets face it 2238 will never be FO1/2 and that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

omg are we playing same game? I think sniper/bigguner ballance is quiet fine and their differences very fun. We dont want to have again everybody with same build.

Are you trolling or are you just provoking people ? Wait isn't that the same thing ?

Balance well i have felt the sniper balance on my own skin. 2 shots , 2 crits , 2 bypasses , 1 knock down , 1 knock out and another knock out while i was knocked out.

Balance yes it is balanced.

Merging skills that is not fallouty , that is new vegas , this is not new vegas.

I had a concept a long long time ago, not to merge skills but to give an ever so slight synergy,

if you have ever shot a real gun, ( I don't want to sound redneck here, but I have) you would know that a little "experience" in using one gun helps you use another at least a little, that way if you have gone with small guns your whole build and come across a big gun you like its not a complete waste of skills.

Also with HTH and Melee, You don't think that if you were a pro at hand to hand combat it might give you some kind of edge if you get your hands on a crow bar for combat?

What if you had a small energy weapon? would you not get some kind of boost from all of your practice with small guns? ( small guns skill) ?

HERE I will take it in the other direction now - Hell they should make another skill type  - Automatic weapons, then you can really mix and match,
because how does knowing how to use a rocket launcher help you with shooting a Mini ?  now THAT  makes no sense.

Like I said, no merging, just slight synergy, if not simply for the sake of logic, and not being stuck using one type of weapon the whole game.

This is quite good , really like this idea.

Like people say, this is FO2, the cars are from fallout tactics.
FO2's main traveling vehicle is a caravan.

Thats why there should be no cars. Cuz its not fallout.
And if there must be cars, id be inclined to believe the BoS or Encalve would be only ones who could produce them at 100k a pop. Not some tootless guy in the back alley of reno.
Cars are fine, for Fallout they are not.

The Hummer for instance is made by the BoS in Fallout Tactics. Why should it be sold from New Reno in Fonline.

The NCR has around 1000 cars at least, and even a motorized infantery unit.

I've seen you mention that before.  Is that from the Fallout Bible?

Big gun and small guns in one skill lol fallout new vegas :D

Casual players as usual...
Apparently putting the miniguns and the light machine gun into the small guns skill then renaming the skill guns constitutes a merge.  ::)

Your forgetting about the other big guns that went to other skills. They weren't merged. They were categorized by ammo type then distributed to other skills where appropriate.

I dont know anything about Fallout 3, or Fallout new vegas, and probably never will( aside from the fact that they ruined the fallout series), but that almost sounds like what I suggested 0.0  having skill in light machine gun seems like it would be more help to you in using a mini, and vise versa, then a rocket launcher and a mini, as i said how does using a rocket launcher, and a mini have anything to do with each other ?
mini, and uzi have more in common
not that i really care, mini, and RL togeather in BG skill is fine with me. I dont want them wasting time doing this when there are more important things for them to attend to in the game, like adding quests / things to do XD

So you know nothing about them but you say they ruined the fallout series

Sounds like another hipster blindly hating the new fallouts because they're more "mainstream"

Keep the nonsense posted to a minimum and don't talk about stuff you don't know nothing about.
