You don't need a GM to rename your gang, just pretend with your imagination that you're the l33t sup@ cAP aC0P kk1LaZ.

To be honest this would be great, I always disliked the idea of having to choose a name for my faction from a list, it's kinda stupid and demotivating... We would just need some clear rules about names, like for example no numbers into it (to avoid name copying like leetzorz->l33tz0rz->leetz0rz and so on), no symbols, no offensive names and so on... all things that can be easily done with a bit of programming.

The only problem left could be stupid names, but we could set up a procedure to validate the names, like you submit your name choiche, the faction is created but cant make any TC until a GM approved the name. Or again we could make a list on the forum with chosen faction names, which gms can approve from time to time.

This could be probably be annoying for gms, but i honestly don't know how many gangs will born every day.. in worst cases you could have to wait 2-3 days before your name gets approved, but still it wouldn't be such a great pain like choosing a really stupid name just because it is the less ugly, or the only one available.

I think two options would be best, To select one existing and to make an own. When making an own, you would need to wait for GM acceptance (for obvious reasons, i would even be a bit harsh and would limit the names to RP kind of names, Only one or two GM can be choosed for this through an open minded one, a good solution would be that if one GM doesint agree with the name then he passes it to another GM, if the second agrees the name still makes it in).

Choose your own gang name. If Gang name is found offensive by GMs they delete the base as punishment and jail the chars of that faction for 1-2 days. Simple solution. Nobody has enough caps and nerves to keep up this kind of trolling forever.

It's not only about stupid names, names should be approved anyway to preserve a "falloutish" experience. I really wouldnt like to see RL names or even worse having my faction deleted because a gm doesnt think that the name i chose is fine enough..

If you want to preserve "falloutish", then, player names like "Sex Boy", "Kurwa", etc, should be forbidden.

Well since is not a full rpg server you can't expect everyone using serious names. But do you really want to see Power Rangers are taking Modoc?
