Just admit that current system of guarded towns is pretty much crap which is set only for trolls, griefers, thieves, PK teams, and bombers. Leave Reno free to allow wastelanders to make their avanger justice on their own. Othervise there are a lot of free places for quests in currently guarded towns. And quests can be added to reno anyways as have been said. Lets just talk about some minor protection of reno after there are more than wright and suitcase quest.

Much better leave the whole world unguarded. That'll get rid of the trolls, griefers, thieves and PK teams, no doubt.

Sounds bit boring, if we use this system.
But boxing in general sounds nice and fit nicely to New Reno.

I'd like an idea where players put bets on boxers.
If there is no investment from NPCs, win-trading will not be viable way to get any money.

It'd still be possible however, but then again it's player who are betting, and up to them to make their justice.

About families of New Reno.. Is this already suggested?
Hmmm... This made me think about another idea... Let's make 2 type of gangs!
1. Factions
Same as now, control towns and stuff.
2. Families
Control New Reno parts. Controlling different parts may give you different rewards, mostly drugs (because New Reno is a junkie town). Mostly cigs, jet, beer and some mobster like weapons (like Tommy gun, .44 magnum revolver etc.)

Page one, about 6th post.
I could add, to make a faction, you need to talk to the current ones that give you base/faction/whatever. But to make a family you may need to go to some other NPC found maybe somewhere in New Reno.

I heard in different topic that the casinos will be guarded, someday.

How will it be, PK camping the only entrance, waiting for the bluesuit to venture out - or will there be persons leading you to a backdoor, (teleport door) if you have enough caps?

From a realism perspective, it would make sense to me that certain parts of New Reno would be guarded.

For example, the Wrights own the casino, they would want safe access for people in general to get to that casino. So it would make sense for maybe that part of town to be guarded. More gamblers, more money. However, not all of the mob bosses would necessarily care about this.

The Mordinos probably wouldn't care too much about guarding simply because a lot of Jet addicts are going to do anything they can to get their fix regardless, which may involve killing people. In that case, the best way to minimize death to their customer base would be to not guard that area. Think about it: Two junkies, one needs a fix, and in a senseless drug-rage, kills the other for Jet. At least in that scenario, you still have 1 customer left. Whereas if it's guarded, in theory, they both would be dead. Plus, they have ties with the Raiders.

So, in summary, Mordinos I think would not have much interest in guarding. Wrights would probably want their area guarded. The rest I suppose is left up to debate.

Alright, i would like to point out three things.

A: Unguarded towns need a faction guarding them, otherwise any bluesuit with an SMG can walk up and shoot you, which is why at least faction held areas need to function like a guarded area, otherwise reno will be a PvP town only, not a quest town, since i've seen people camp inside casinos, and you pretty much have to rush in, get what you want done, and get out, since a guy in BA with an LSW is going to show up and kill you, i've had a few PvP battles in reno, that just randomly happen, hell, even level 3 people who walk in to reno will pull out a gun and shoot you if they think they can win. i've had it happen before.

B: People can sit outside of casinos, but if you could pay people to let you out the backdoor, as people have suggested a few times, and store your caps inside, than this could work rather well, also, if gambling is added, than it would make the place worth going to for non-PvP things, now the only other problem is thieves, if a thief shows up the guards should be watching for thieving and cheating, and with the closed in space of a building, the guards should be able to watch the tables and slots easily.

C: PvP isn't the only thing in the game to do, but it's the most amusing thing for the vet players, the point is, to make reno viable for more quests, and PvE stuff, as currently it's just an arena, and if you want that, there's still plenty of unguarded locations to go to, and hell, why not add a few extra areas made to be "outer new reno", where there's no guards, but still some shops that sell drugs and such. reno's a big place, you could easily expand the city to show some ruins around it, and maybe even add in some PvE family areas, where the family's have outposts in the ruins around new reno, than you can walk to from the normal city, you can have it both ways, semi guard, with new unprotected areas, maybe new reno has a yakuza base close by that sells jet and throwing knives for people to camp? who knows, but i am pretty sure it's easy to connect old areas to new areas, the city has alot of dead end streets that aren't blocked off, that could easily be turned in to a green or brown transit grid leading to a new area.

There should be a boxing single player quest, work 1000 xp or so.  A few matches, similar to the FO2 quests.  then, after you complete those, you can do PvP boxing, just like the Hub Arena.
