Money of NPC traders is not right
« on: January 30, 2010, 02:06:57 pm »

I have noticed that after update of 25.01 that state:
- Items being held at traders for long time (depending on their type, max 3 real time days), get turned into caps. Will get turned into other (more usefull) stuff later, to help traders one more time.
traders have always barely few caps in their stock, even worse in hub there is barely any items in their stock
i`m checking NPC merchants few times a day in hub (general, guns, jacob) and NCR at bazaar

something is not right, that known merchants of Fallout world sholdn`t be that poor, from where i can get some money with my trader character now

Actualy, you might have been just unlucky, the money respawns at them, but many players are trying to get them so they are traded quite quickly, especialy in Hub and NCR. Try some more deserted areas like  SF Tanker.

One is empty. Those in tanker only has small junk. Mayor in redding usually has some caps ..

yes ok yesterday for the first time i saw some money in hub, but i think the Hub guns trader is bugged somehow, it has only 1 shotgun shell, no caps no any other items it shouldn`t be like this

there always some money in den(flick) modoc (balthasar) and san francisco(chunkies:)but selling stuff in den and modoc =asking for bullet.Traders in SF got more barter skill so prices are lower(if you selling stuff)no easy life for traders

What I don't like is how the Iguana man in NCR is the only good person to buy/sell stuff. The other people (Gun store, brahmin herdsman, banker) all make you have to pay for more and sell for less.

Thats probably due to his Barter skill.

As for the other stuff ... seems it needs checking on.

Today and yesterday night i checked all vendors in all towns with a high speech/barter/10int/10ch.  None of the npc's had any caps, the SF vendors had one 12 gauge shell and 1 10mmJHP bullet.  :P
Some vendors like iguana bob's (son?) in ncr have way to long inventory lists ; this must be very annoying when using a non-barter char.  It would be more user-friendly if the devs could program the npc's to repair their guns, unload and stack them.

that would indeed be a great improvement becaus of the fact that when, for example you wand to get some shotgun shells they are usually at or very near the bottom, so you have to do the trade within the final 5 secs of actually finding them.
