I have a simple suggestion: make all player-made locations ( tents, bases ) visible for everyone, if they come near it, until the next wipe.

reasons: wasteland is not harsh enough, there is a huge mess with caps right now, people lost all their life savings and became very, very pissed off. the rich have millions and the poor have nothing. poverty, hunger and frustration coused them to search for food, goods and caps all over the wasteland. people became so desperate that now they dare to enter abondoned camps and heavily guarded strongholds.

and yes, this is a serious suggestion. let's try it for some time for the sake of betatesting.

I see this suggestion part of usual "afsum ideas before the wipe" (even if it's not happening) and doomed to fail. But. Let it go.

doomed to fail? fail in what? I think it would be interesting to see and participate in. Many players decide not to play during the last months before wipe, because it gets boring. something like this would spice up the game and give us a view on how the game would work if nobody had a safe place to store stuff.

If you believe it's bad, at least say why.

It will result in all the poor people not playing anymore as they can't keep their property safe. What's the fun in doing something when it will result in having to start it over again and again and again ...
Less people will also mean that part of the rich factions will stop playing.
An empty wasteland might indeed be more realistic, it will be more boring too.
Not to mention rich factions simply add a shitload of mercs at the entrances to their bases resulting in them being pretty much unconquerable.

Rich factions can buy tons of mercs to protect their places.  Poor cant.  So this is only gonna make it worse.....

anyway u can make storage_alt1,2,3.....zillion. Log them off on WM and nobody can get to your staff anyway. It just bring more inconvenience.

This could be done only in case, if the bases will get some security system (as it was planned a long time before). Moreover, if you'll be able to see ALL BASES and TENTS, that'll be just hard or impossible to enter most of them, coz the biggest part of them are located in a similar places (eg. around NCR, Hub, VC)

Would be interesting to see, but i think it would be the same as it is now just with bases and tents overun. I would rather suggest for the future : tent only visible to the creator and base visible to everyone, so baseguarding would finally have a meaning, but oh well i can see a shared LOL-this-is-our-base-char-Alt that would use a tent to store the complete belongings of the gang. Anyway i feel like this very much :

okay, maybe not the best idea ever. but don't you think that unfindable bases are boring? it would be interesting if there was a way to find them somehow. I started playing after tracking was removed so I don't know how it worked, but I wish I could see it in game.

personaly I think it is the best idea I have readed so far in this section. Of course it should work only in circa. last two days before wipe. This way we could really see whats gonna happen if the bases would be findable, and the game would have so much spice inside that I wouldnt be surprised if last two days would have 500+ people online.

Also, bout this idea... Make those bases invisible but enterable. That would be even funnier
