Sorry to say, but the Fallout 3 soundtrack was very very generic and uninspired compared to the original one. Not saying Inon Zur is a bad composer, but he just failed at creating the correct atmosphere. The newly composed ones in Fallout: New Vegas were nice though, he experimented a bit and it went good. Also, what has that Tranquility Lane soundtrack to do with a postapocalyptical atmosphere?
My favorite ones are the
Necropolis one for it's "creepiness" - sounds like total desolation and absence of life, same as the
Desert Wind theme. I like the
Modoc Theme for it's melancholic/hopeless structure and the
Arroyo one for it's sounddesign.
