that looks great, but the metal texture goes over the eye slit, one wouldn't be able to see out of it. maybe make that part black?

This is a pretty damn good work, Harald 8)! Aligning isn't a problem, though have to be done later.

By the way, lately while having some fun in Team Fortress 2, I've discovered that its shop is a pretty cool place to find some inspiration to the new models.

Did that, but turned out it looks even more weird than this. I was really focussing on recreating a "poor man's" archlight helmet from F3/NV, and as you can see, the eye slit is metal too.
I still can be reached over e-mail if you somehow need anything from me. Don't see a reason why you would, but if you do, e-mail remains the safest bet, as I do not visit this forum reliably anymore.

Actually it's even bigger than the one in F3/NV

Unlikely. These armors are too "badass" and doesn't fit the original Fallout setting.

Looks more like a super mutant armor, too.

Why not make some enclave soldiers in the envionmental armour? They'd be like the hazmat squads for them.

Let's start with completing all of the 3D models.

I really like this custom sprite, and I wouldn't mind a go at a 3D one of it :

It's from about 11 posts down on page 3 here :
No Mutants Allowed - New Animations 2

I don't know if x'il (who made these) uses the 2238 forums (maybe under a different name?) - but as it's a definite custom critter, it'd be polite to ask permission to try and copy it, and to credit him for the idea. If we do want this doing, maybe someone knows him already from Fallout 2 modding and could ask on my behalf?

Anyway, it looks really nice - and I'm pretty sure it's only a few tweaks to the existing duster coat / NCR long coat model to get something looking similar. I'd like to do it if it's useful, and okay with original author.

not only is the armor cool, but I really like the minimalist gas mask design. maybe add goggles?
