Random Items Like Lighters?

Sorry if this is a misplaced thread. 

Simple question;

Are there uses for the random items you sometimes spawn with or find in the wastes, such as lighters, flowers, deck of cards, postcards, things like that?

It's a very newb question I know.. but the wiki didn't help me out.

You sometimes find such items in caves in random encounters. Just take your time to explore them a bit if you're interested. :)
You can bring them to a certain NPC in Boneyard which nets you a few xp and such.

only brock flowers and xander root, the rest are for colecting and selling to interested colectors

Yeah I just found 3 lighters in a cave... was wondering if it had any effect on cigarette smoking or something. alright thankyou very much for the info.  I guess this topic could be locked or deleted if need be.  Guess I'll be heading to boneyard to sell some zippos. =D

Lighters are worth 100 caps when sold to the misc vendors (bartenders, usually, but also Sha Enin and others).
Don't take your random items to the Boneyard until you get the quest.  He asks for different items in different amounts.

theres a quest in boneyard from the doctor that ask you (sometimes) for lighters

Be careful when entering caves. You may find very powerful creatures there too like deathclaws - quick boots required!
