Building a collection of platform games.

So recently I've been doing a bit better for myself in real, I got a new laptop and I have some spare time at the moment. I like to be organised so I'm getting a 1TB external HD to put my media on. So the idea came to mind.. Me and my gal love games, all platforms, even the most crappiest. It brings back good memories.. Fallout lovers understand I'm sure. So basically what I wanted to say is : Does anyone else collect/play older games? (doesn't matter what system, old platform or emulators) I'm looking for tips and any kind of advice for finding old games/platforms/game data and working emulators. I wanna get an extensive collection of older platform games on my comp till we get a place and things settle down, then I can actually work on getting the real games/platforms with a area to put them all. I'm interested in NES, SNES, SEGA, Atari 2600 for starters. So any advice, tips or anything related to this topic is welcome. Thanks, enjoy the gaming.
