Well, i guess you already met the problem of vital person for your little quest for obtaining stuff being dead. For a looooong time.

I suggest those NPCs either being immortal or being very quickly respawned.

Megtzer with 999 hp was fun to smash a few days before the wipe, yay supersledge mercs.

This would be the best alternative. Some npcs have "fuck you" dialogue options that make them hostile, it wouldn't be fun to first insult a beggar and then notice he has 999 hp.

And it shouldn't be any XP for killing them, or they will be farmed for points.
