Possibility for Random minerals/iron.
« on: December 12, 2010, 12:06:57 am »

I Just had this quick thought that might be kinda cool!

Well, Theres towns with mines, and mining sites.
Which that means The area is enriched with Resources.

there should be a 1/10 Chance of Building a tent and there being Iron/Minerals out the front.
It would be cool

Just a thought what do ya's think?

Best start saving up on brahmin hides so i can get a tent like this.

Every 1 will abadon public mines i mean the rich people to move a mine right next to their base.
Some of the mines will be abandoned or have little activity.

I liked how before the wipe you could just encounter minerals/ore normally. After these mines were introduced, no more encounters like that happen. I'd like to see them back. They would be rare, but they would exist. And about making a tent there, I don't know. Could make mining too easy, but sure would that be fun. Crafting now is just boring, not as profitable as farming etc.

if you implement the chance to settle a tent in an area with ore/minerals then there should be a limit to it i.e. limited ore and minerals plus no high quality or if you do want it then it should be severely limited in quantity.

that true, before mines were introduced and hq materials everybody just go out and dig some stuff (just wtf? is there any diffrence if you use normal quality iron or high quality iron? it only should affect detoriation of weapon)

Yeah, let's keep the players in a massive multiplayer game even more hiding in their own private bases, private tents, private mines, private mining benches, private "PvE Spots", private private... uh.

Bad suggestion. Random encounterable mining spots have been removed for exact this reason.

That maybe true but the among the LONG list of reasons why people choose to go to those private, private-------.  Is because the game caters the uber build pvp/pk/thief crowd.  So of course the prospect of having another possible safe place to do something is nice.  Now forgetting the realism behind trudging in the wastes surveying and finding a mine no one knows about, having random encounters with mines, even if rare wouldn't hurt the over all 'group' dynamic in this game, one because if you find it you got 5 mins to get a buddy there with something that can carry it, two you may have to defend it, and three it's a one trip thing.  I think a rare random pop mine would be cool just like the special encounters, it's a reward to those people who actually go out of those private places.  Sides the way the game is now, you'll find one get some stuff from it, leave to head to tent, fall into RT PK/merc trap lose it all, and no big thing.
