Dying, ressing, then dying again.
« on: February 15, 2010, 10:36:12 am »

I'll die, usually for going idle when on a gate or door.

Then i'll respawn, then i'll try to wander back to a city, then die. From raiders, marauders, rats, mantis, mutants, whatnot.

Repeat process until I luck out at... say.. Modoc... Where I am trapped till I die. Usually from trying to run away from Modoc and its lack of trade.

Is it just me

I wonder if this tripwire has enough BZZT in it...

Try heading to guarded cities, they are generally a lot safer (aside from the random suicider). Also check the survival guide section of the forum for hints etc.

1) Change default combat mode to Turn-based in FOConfig.
This gives you plenty of time to access combat situations, heal, prevents dying while standing on an exit grid, etc. pvp might be different though, and towns are always realtime.

2) Tag the Outdoorsman skill. A high enough outdoorsman will let you avoid random encounters entirely.

3) Buy a merc. Melee mercs won't need ammo for upkeep, and can be a good distraction while you run. You can buy a dog in junktown for 200.
