although i believe that forests should have taken over most of the wasteland by now i like the desert like athmosphere of the game. besides finding trees is not that hard. just pick up some flints when you find some while hunting and cut some of the trees wheneveryou encounter them. everytime i come back from hunting, i bring about 30-35 wood with me.

if you want to gather wood without hunting, head to the mountains. the cooldown for gathering is already long enough to gather the wood that you can carry, take them to your tent or base and go back to the mountains to gather some more again.

kill,rape,robe,burn,rape,chop,cook and mine ? Well actually making them easier to appear will be good, and they may make more encouters have trees you can actually cut (i may be wrong since i dont get wood for a long time), but when i did some encounters have trees you couldnt cut.
