Will you use the remains of FOG in your project? It's closed for a long time already, you know. And its author is publicly released some of the files he made so far.

Also, according to the law agreement you probably have to replace "Fallout Online" with just "Fonline".

Anyway, good luck with your project.

You should get in touch with the guy drawing this webcomic. (http://kranburn.thewebcomic.com/)
This could be awesome.

Yes. It will have a Mel Gibson Easter Egg. You can get him as a follower.
And No. we will not use the Remnants of FOG. I would prefer to craft this myself.
That comic also seems alright. I Will consider it.

On the Topic of Donations, we have raised about 50$ from 7 People.

Asking for donations when there isn't even a client public/server ready? Classy! This will only get your asses sued big time, just FYI.

Lawyers don't care if it's "just" there - at the moment you are making money through something related to the Fallout license. I don't mean to be an arsehole or such, it is just a friendly reminder.

4-5 hrs Each Day for About 4 Days
Title: Re: Fallout Online: Australia
Post by: Lizard on December 17, 2011, 10:44:10 am
5 hours at large... That means, you have about 5 hours to watch over the process, okay. i can get it. Work, life, all the things.
Yet, Mr.Feltzer, how are you going to run the server when it's out of beta?
I mean, 2238 seems to have a international GM team from different time zones which can run the game 24 hours in shifts and you're all alone!

Do you have any solution for that?
Title: Re: Fallout Online: Australia
Post by: runboy93 on December 17, 2011, 11:12:19 am
Timezones are very bad.. and you keep server open 4-5 hours.. that let almost no one to enter server.
You should keep it like 10 hours atleast open to let someone else in too :P
Title: Re: Fallout Online: Australia
Post by: Mr Feltzer on January 15, 2012, 04:58:07 am
REMEMBER! Game Times aren't 24/7 You need to Organise yourself to know when the server is online.

Fallout Online: Australia Timezone  ( GMT 10+ - Eastern Australia Time )
Average Game Times 10am - 3-4 pm

The Beta test may go longer, or shorter. this may end up spreading to the next day or two. really depending on the amount of players that join us.

Also. be aware that the Beta Test isn't hosted on the Dedicated Server PC. so it May lag slightly.

Essentially. You Guys obviously only find out about these things AFTER its done. So there is no point Keeping it open for that long as you wont know about it until its over.

And as for Timezone Problems. I posted my GMT 10+ Timezone for people to plan when its on in accordance to their own timezone, and if that was an issue. somebody should have posted that it was an issue for themselves and I would have kept it up for them.

Also. with the full release I will be making a few people from different timezones GM. It wont be just me on 24/7

Is there any other questions?
EDIT: Are any of you interested in becoming Developers/GM's? Im Feeling ready to accept more support as the server is near completion.

Quickly Announced Beta Test tommorow
Around 10Am GMT 10+

What about Pokemon Edition?

In other News:
Fallout Online: Australia MAY be postponed untill late 2012. This is due to hosting issues as I was Originally intending of self-hosting, but that is now going to be an issue as I will be moving to the Farm which COULD ( not sure yet ) have a Awfull connection, and make it inpossible to host :/

Today I have had a Long Conversation from one of the Boys from Cloudcube.com.au , we Have negotiated a deal for a 2 Day 48 Hour test of Fallout Online: Australia!

The way to keep this server online from that point on, is to Invite all your friends to this project, Bring them All! We need to assemble enough people!

From that point on we will be charged $40 Per Month for a High Quality dedicated server. I think if we can pull this off, for even just One month. we can gain momentum and then Make this game really fun!

Invite All your Friends! Bring them All! Lets make this a Celebration!

Please help us Spread the News! This is the Largest chance for this game to get off the ground presented yet!

Visit http://www.moddb.com/games/fallout-online-australia For More Information about the Project!

So I downloaded the single player and i noticed that i see one town and 2 replication centers.
Am I missing something or is this all there is to see at this point? I'm not trying to be a dick I just want to get all I can out of it. Is there a trick to seeing the rest of the locations?

Well. Its just like 2238, you need to find the other locations. Keep in mind if you look at the map in the post above there isn't much near the starting position.

If you want to find more locations you just look at the map above. The Starting location is where "Australia" is written ;D
All the X Markers are positions of Towns

Its indeed still alive, but the Progress of fixing bugs ect isn't too fast as Im working on a completely different Game project at the same time.

and thanks for finding that bug, I will add it to the list.

No. Ever Since the start of my Fallout career I always imagined what it would be like in Australia. and so Im creating this story. Dont Criticize it please. I Have worked quite hard on this.

Maybe he didn't criticize, maybe it's his bad English.

I think you should welcome constructive criticism though. You can't avoid it anyway so you can try to benefit from it.
If you don't want project to be criticized, don't publish :)

BTW, perhaps you can think about finding people interested to help you with your project.
It's hard to make a game alone :)

One person don't do nothing and as I saw you didn't make too many new "stuff" so you will have hard start for get more players. Find other team developers and then ask them for help. FOT, Racial Wars etc here are few.

I think you are just jelly that Mr.Feltzer is a better developer.

This game has a lot of features that are just fun and goofy, and isn't over loaded with butthurt and frustration. He is making a FUN game, you wouldn't know fun if it smacked you on your ass and asked you for a date.
Title: Re: Fallout Online: Australia

Well Its quite a large project. Im not sure where to begin on telling you what Gameplay is like.

I would like to state that Player-Built Towns are The Main Peak Feature of the Game that creates a form of Hierarchy of what Actions players make below it.

I would see the Project as a social experiment. Providing the Tools for the Players to build their own environment instead of me having to make all of it is the main thing.

Let me Lay out a Scenario:
A Bunch of Friends decide to start their own player town. They Currently live out of a Single Desert Ranch, They dont have alot of resources but they have teamwork.

They Leave their house and enter a Random Encounter in which they can find the Resources to Build a Small Town, Mine Mine Mine, Cut Cut Cut.. Craft Craft Craft. Within about an hour they Have enough Resources to Build a Small Town. one of them with enough Repair goes and attains Architect Proffesion from an NPC

They Choose where they want to build their town. They Decide to build it near Adelaide as there is plenty of Good Encounters, and lots of the Population lives around there.

They Place their town. Store their Items inside their new City hall, And then One of the Friends with a few caps goes to the Local Town to look for a few players who are up for hire, He finds a handfull of Level 8-12's Who have decent weapons. He manages to offer them 1k each to Guard the Town for a few hours. ( They are n00bs, they see this as plenty of Payment )

They Activate World-Map Vision. So the Town is Visible if players wander within a few Zones of the Town

2 Hours Later. A Whole bunch of Players have found themselves in the town. Offering to pay Items/Caps to Buy Homes inside the Town. They wish to live here because the Mayor will be able to Hire plenty of Guards to protect from PVP Factions.

But Oh Oh! a PVP Faction has noticed a new Town on the World Map.. They have arrived and are waiting for orders on the World Map..

Without knowing it, this town is about to meet its doom. The PVP Faction breaks in. Blam Blam Blam, Wastelanders are allover the Ground. A few player Guards run out with Rifles and take a few shots... not enough to stop the PK Faction. They Stomp through the town and kill everything. Loot all the Bodies and Leave, For the PVP'ers it was a Successful Raid.

The Mayor and the Original Friends are using sneak in the mayors office. Hiding for their Safety.. They need to Hire more Guards, Or Build a more secure level of Craftable Town. Or Maybe Pay a Player who can Build Robots an exorbent amount of money to Guard the Town with his Robotic Army. Or Maybe they will leave the town.. Leaving it to sit in the wasteland gathering dust. untill somebody decides to inhabit it.. a few Bluesuits are always looking for vacant free homes.. Sure they aren't safe.. But they are Good enough for Now.

How will we know when the server goes online?

I have all the time in the world this weekend, and am looking foward to it.

Will you post when the server goes online, is there a server status somewhere that missed?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I think you are just jelly that Mr.Feltzer is a better developer.

This game has a lot of features that are just fun and goofy, and isn't over loaded with butthurt and frustration. He is making a FUN game, you wouldn't know fun if it smacked you on your ass and asked you for a date.
Lol some dumbass just made a new forum alt just to write that? He knew he would get banned...

Shiiit this sounds nice. Really nice...I like the idea of a player-run economy, it fits well into the idea of the wasteland. I presume that merchants will have lower tier gear than in sinlge player? I was level 1 and I beat a merchant to death...got a gauss rifle, yk42b pulse rifle, plasma grenades etc 66000 caps :D
Also, as long as there are PKs(as you mentioned in the story, and there will ALWAYS be PKs), there will be people going regularly raping towns and looting merchants. I'm curious to see how all this will affect it. No doubt this will be a drastically different environment from FOnline 2238, and I hope it will be at least as good of one. I will have to figure out some balance of how much time to play which game  ;)

Why everything (which I see) is made by only metal parts and holodiscs?

Gauss rifle has wood elements and "magneto-super-duper-magnetic elements" so you should make crafting more realistic.

About taming animals: Every animal should be tameable with proper skill and/or maybe some mutation obtainable through quest - Me want to have own deathclaw!:D (They looks a bit like kangaroos btw.)

EDIT: So, every NPC... Deathclaws too, yes? :D

CH

You can only HOLD 9 at a time.  So, 9 charisma.  (assuming your going to take magnetic personality)

But you can acquire unlimited amounts, you just have to drop them off somewhere.  (tell them to wait here, and you can enslave more)

Also, you need 50% speech for the ability to enslave.

And another thing, you need to put them at -HP to enslave.   Being knocked out doesn't cut it for some reason.

Unlike 2238 you don't need 10 of the same freakin alts to craft shit in reasonable amounts.

only 60 second cooldown for crafting anything max.

So I went and played on your server, and here are my thoughts about it:

First the encounters are the same as in the SDK same places and everything only with different names. Most of the towns are just renamed and redone and they are still on the same place all you did is add some small locations. You have to fix some maps too, most of them need blockers to prevent walking on water and stuff. Also noticed some tiles out place too. I really love the Ashton zombie virus. I find it very entertaining to go kill zombies ;) I had alot of fun. Also when you register and find yourself in that basement in the locker where the items are you forgot to add ammo for the Flamer. Or was it on purpose? If yes why? And have you considered on using some other mods like the race menu ? I really like what you are doing, so keep up the good work ;).

You can also craft robots (earliest being the eyebot) and cars like the steam engine (at least I remember feltzer mentioning it ingame, never saw it myself) and use coal to power it.

Also, with the current TC thing (like, where you call in a faction and get hummer or whatever) you can get enough parts and bs to build a vault base.  Sadly that part is bugged at the moment but it's been reported.

this dosent use Critter or Master. Everything you need to run the Game is Included.

Simply Download the Game and Play it.. Should work Immediately. if you are having issues with crashing it dosent really narrow down the problem. ( Try play with the Config )

Your game has potential but if you develop alone it can hard to work. What I have seen your maps need many rework, many maps are orginal tla and fallout 2. Features: sleep, slave, crafting is good but you must improve design.
Good luck Mr Feltzer, bring fonline new hope.

No, this was fixed.

Only vaults are unprivated, however, I remember seeing a house that wasn't mine near broome.  Not sure what the hell that was about, but everything else is private aside from vault bases, but unnecessary, since you just lock yourself up in the vault.

Feltzer is online at 1 AM to like 6 AM east pacific timezone, and if  you have issues like getting stuck he can teleport you to safety and shit through Mirc.

You just gotta give him your character ID through ~myinfo.

And actually server is really fun, but there is a major major major problem with locations being private for a day or so and then suddenly all start becoming visible. :-\

This is correct.  no perk needed.

Also, you can buy mutie mercs with laser rifles for 3500 at broken hills, and in NAR go all the way down, join NAR (you must pay 2500 caps) and you can buy soldiers for 1000 caps a pop.

You cannot tell your mercs to wait here.  There is something bugged about it, I've mentioned it to feltzer already.

I gotta say this server's crafting system is the best I've ever seen.

getting resources is like 5 seconds cool down.

crafting ANYTHING is only 60 seconds.

You can increase output per amounts by building things like a metal melter (you turn ore into metal parts, you can do this 1 by 1 which takes 60 seconds, or you can make metal melter, and make 10 metal parts out of 5 ore + 2 planks).

It's just... soooo awesome...

there are traders that sell kits.  (Assuming thats why u need some)

bro, you can make like 10 metal parts out of 5 ore and 2 planks with a metal melter (only 12 metal parts) and a saw to make 10 planks out of 5 wood with a saw (metal parts too) once you get those it is not bad at all it's perfectly fine.

Cvets Bethesda Certified SDK uses Fallout.dat
It is not certified, especially by Bethesda, Cvet has used it to his own risk. So it's up to you whether to include it in your client.
Personally I first was paranoid about the inclusion of fallout.dat into the SDK, but now I think it does not really matter. If it comes to problems with Bethesda, it will be more about using Fallout universe and the words "Fallout Online" in the name (that's why it was named "FOnline" long ago).

Is this project open souce? Worldmap is quiet nice but most of locations need to be reworked as hell.

It was stoped because of two things the first was lack of players there were 4 or 5 players on it (GR1M Mcdoctor Reese and one of reeses freinds) and he is working on other projects that can make him money on the unity engine

~getaccess admin password

password you must check in server/fonlineserver.cfg

I don't have australia files so I can't check password but it must be in cfg file.

There's no pass.

Just "Admin =                "

as Brad says it was open for 2 months, The first week was exceptional. but the playerbase died off, Most of the news was presented through either this thread, Moddb and Facebook and the IRC

Why did you choose to stop your game ?

I chose to stop it because there was a very low player count. and the donations ran out.

I honestly wouldn't care about what the player count was so long as we were getting enough donations to run the server. I dont even have a job so I cant support server costs myself

you have made bold decsiosn to develop game only by yourself. especially in such form. many project falls becouse no one is draw any conclusions from other projects. you can deny it - FONLINE IS TEAM PvP GAME.

Mush you're right... or at least no one managed to show the game on a different way. I don't think anyone could change that either, knowing the engine and the barriers resulting of this retro technology xD. Anyways, Feltzer didn't put anyone else in a sad situation because of his choices so I'd say it doesn't matter much. He decided his way, and followed it with an awesome dose of courage. To me, you at least lacked someone to advertise your project. I don't remember enough attempts to show us how great it was. Putting Fallout in Australia can seem strange at first look, but it can bring a lot of great concepts I'm sure. Thing is, the only souvenir I have about it is an early screenshot with ugly (at least imho :))) new desert tiles and nothing else on it. Never heard of a single game concept or mechanic. I certainly didn't pay enough attention. But... well, I spent some time reading about every project, and since not many have lived for some time, that's a shame I missed this one. Maybe, as Mushroom said, I wasn't interested because the game wasn't PvP oriented.

Well, in any case I wish you good luck with your future projects ! ;)

Haha "start up the servers" if Only it were that easy, The Server requires donations to run, and we have no donations. If enough people pledged some money we could bring it back up, but I dont see that happening.

This game was extremely fun when it was up, the fanbase only died because she had some game-breaking bugs at the start. they are fixed now, If we were to get enough donations we could bring her back up..

in case you were wondering, it costs 40$/month to host..

Mr Feltzer, if you wanna get players, I think you should take a direction for your game and stick to it. When I see a single player patch to a game which was obviously created for multiplayer experience, I don't know what to think.

Need to agree with Shangalar. What I saw on FOA its nothing interesting to Me and probably 90% of players. Your concept of game not favorising PvP wich is probably most important aspect of mmo games. dont mention that  fonline PvP should be stricly related to RP
fights need to have some purpose and point.

You cant populate server without big factions

anyway goodluck!

You dont know what you are talking about.
I do both directions simultaneously, let me explain:
previous two patches I released

First adds items to the fixboy
also for multiplayer makes skill books craftable

Second adds two companions for singleplayer

Im choosing both directions. Singleplayer fans like new stuff so I give it to them. I also want more features ready so if we go online again it will be better than last time.

Well, that's your choice. Just saying that if you wanna see your game again online, you should certainly focus on multiplayer features. Now I'm not sure you mean single players (offline) or loners. Do you have a description of your game somewhere ? Including all the features ?

Fallout Australia isn't about doing quests. as it says on the fo:aus moddb page  (http://www.moddb.com/games/fallout-online-australia)
Quote
The game isn't designed with a linear storyline like most other games, in this world the player must make a life for themselves
You build your own life, sure there may be some quests on the way but everything you do is to thrive

Will you use the remains of FOG in your project? It's closed for a long time already, you know. And its author is publicly released some of the files he made so far.

Also, according to the law agreement you probably have to replace "Fallout Online" with just "Fonline".

Anyway, good luck with your project.

Legally Bethesda doesn't have rights to fallout 1, 2, or tactics so they can't say anything legally. They CAN strongly recommend it but can't command it. The rights belong to Interplay until December 2013 and they reallyyyyyy don't care about their games being modded or this would have been shut down a longgggg time ago. (It likely will be shut down once Bethesda gains rights.)

I found it rather interesting in the time it was up.

Though, unless things have changed, your probably going to get blasted by some Power-Armored Guass/Vindicator troll in the starter town not long after servers up, since there are some NPCs with a huge amount of upper-tier gear that can be easily killed then looted for everything they have.

But hopefully bases won't get revealed anymore like they used to.

I agree though that there isn't much advertising. Before last time, i saw Feltzer spamming irc and NCR about it.
But i rarely seen anything else since then. Except maybe this thread, but what else is there to do?

Anyway, if it comes back up, i'd play. Hopefully a little less abooze this time Feltzer?

P.S - Does Sneak work at all?

If I could, I would offer benefits to donators. but the Big B company that we dare not speak of would launch an orbital lawyer strike and would stomp me into prison for the rest of my life.
plus, Pay to win is shitty lol

Those mega-high tier lootable traders have been removed. ( for the reasons you are mentioning )

Bases are no longer revealed, we found all the items that did that and fixed it.

Looking for Donations goes beyond 2238, our Moddb page has a large fanbase outside of this community. none of which are donators yet anyway.

Sneak works, ( Assuming it works in the traditional FOnline as I havent changed any sneak settings )

World Map speed is also increased now so you dont HAVE to stay in the n00b area. ;P dont forget Player vaults are a good way to escape PVPers if you aren't powerful enough anyway..

Sorry if the question have already been asked, but can we run in combat mode on your server?

Just like 2238, in towns/locations it is Real-Time. but in encounters you can choose in the Config ( or if your outdoorsman finds the encounter you can also select it in-game )

and that question is a little un-clear, If you mean "Combat mode" by killing other players. yes you can kill the hell out of other players. out of every town in the game only 2 are guarded the rest are open to PVP
Title: Re: Fallout Online: Australia
Post by: A concerned wastelander on January 13, 2013, 12:22:15 am
Sorry I guess my question was unclear.

By combat mode, I mean the combat timer after you engage or get engaged. On 2238 it prevent you from leaving a area. On TLA or Requiem, it also prevent you from running, you may only walk for the duration of the combat timer.

So my question is, can you always run (like on 2238), or do engaging someone or being engaged by someone in combat prevent oneself from running for the duration of the combat timer (like TLA or Requiem)?

Features that i know of so far

Town Controll: works by talking to a NPC and taking the town. Rewards can be obtained from a certin NPC in each town
TC towns Broome, Parks, Perth, Broken hills, Ashford,
Emu Plains and Austec with the best being
                                 Austec
TC list availble through ~TClist
Faction
Unlocked faction names.
Awerness shows what faction they are apart of

Slaves: Slaves can be slaved with rope while on them you can slave any NPC from Rat to Death Claw Nomad to Enclave Solider in battle if the merc leader dies so does all the slaves note:when slaved they lose all there items and when killed all the items on them disapere

Crafting: All Armours and Weapons can be crafted with out blueprints or professions
Robots can be crafted in the same way
Bases can also be crafted Vualts, Large Towns, Trading posts and Second Stage cave have a faction termnial.
The following bases can be seen on WM the Trading posts Chruch Large Towns and Vualts

Combat is the same as 2238 RT and TB you can run in real time combat
max level is 24

Towns: all TC towns are new Austec is Serria NAR is NCR and BAS is Vault City Duntroon is Navaro Hobart is San Fran

Roleplay CMDs: ~sleep knocks you out and restores a small bit of HP

This is off the top of my head so excpect some mistakes.

Oh so the Combat timer, well that is enabled. you can run whilst in combat, and the timer is about 5-6 seconds to leave the map

TC is very new and is still in development, but essentially. there is no timer. The Town Mayor charges up resources and when he reaches his full charge you can talk to him and gather the resources. This means you must protect the mayor, if he is killed. or another faction talks to him. your faction will no longer be in control.

There is no locker that simply "builds up" resources, you have to be there and gather the resources off the mayor when he is ready to give it to you.

you can check ~tclist to see what towns are owned by who. ( and the who is fun because Factions can customize their names )

as far as rewards are concerned they vary, The small towns that are under siege by zombies alot do not often have strong rewards as their town isn't powerful. but larger towns have large rewards.

for example:

Broken hills will give you Metal Armour,  3500 caps, 1k 7.62 ammo.
This timer recharges in a few minutes, so you can really milk it.

the large special location takes a much longer time to charge up but it dispenses 10k caps and 5 Solar Scorchers.

As far as I know, only Hawks are playing there + some independent players. I was told that there wasn't any server status checker at the moment. All I know about this server is:
Feel free to correct me in case I'm wrong at any of the points.

There is still lots of things I don't know. Level cap? System of followers? Perks? Available weapons? Fallout in Australia is a wonderful idea, would be a shame to waste it. Yesterday I was watching Mad Max 3 and it was an amazing movie with such a great atmosphere. Maybe focus on making low stuff server for MadMax wannabies only. Boost weapons like shotguns, hunting rifles, pistols and make everything scarce. No pulse rifles, no gatlings. Post-apo Australia with inspiration of Mad Max franchise, that's how I see it  8) .

This is just brainstorming, who knows maybe your server is good as it is.

An original archive, without fallout.dat.
It may be enough to copy master.dat/critter.dat into the base directory.

Post by: Boon Lived on January 17, 2013, 12:09:00 am
If you use the above download, you will need to configure the Critter and Master dats manualy.

Open DataFiles.cfg and remove the line:

fallout.dat

And replace it with the path to where your Critter/Master.dat is
For example
C:\Program Files\Fallout2\Critter.dat
C:\Program Files\Fallout2\Master.dat

Or if you decide to just put it in the same file as the client, you can simply put:

Critter.dat
Master.dat

As far as I know, only Hawks are playing there + some independent players. I was told that there wasn't any server status checker at the moment. All I know about this server is:
  • It's developed by one developer only
  • Running enabled during RT combat
  • New world map
  • New locations
  • SDK (TLA or old 2238) drug system
  • I can only guess without working status checker, but I would say the server population is 0-30
  • Levelling one character takes about 10 hours (this info comes from one FOAus player)
  • I've heard pvp is very unbalanced
Feel free to correct me in case I'm wrong at any of the points.

There is still lots of things I don't know. Level cap? System of followers? Perks? Available weapons? Fallout in Australia is a wonderful idea, would be a shame to waste it. Yesterday I was watching Mad Max 3 and it was an amazing movie with such a great atmosphere. Maybe focus on making low stuff server for MadMax wannabies only. There is a brand new Drug System that is currently in development.

What we have so far is essentially 3 primary drugs.
2 Healing drugs and 1 Drug that heals and cures poison and radiation

Things like jet, mentats and such are not yet implemented. however you may some times find them buried in old TLA maps ( I also cannot guarentee they work, they are probably bugged )

I also like my server the way it is. all the craftables, the player experience.. the zombies.. the TC. The living on a small farm starting your little corn whiskey empire.. all that  good stuff

Some pics and videos to give an idea:

Zombie town for exp:

TC:

Mercs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ueAJCN-7D8

What could be improved for some balance:
- Gauss rifle is probably the most unbalanced weapon in this game, as it has extreme damages and 50 hexes of range.
- Knock outs are too common. (Not confirmed since I have not tried Stonewall yet.)
- TC could use a 5-10 minute timer.
- Towns like Broome should have preview for them.

Some things that should stay:
- All the weapons and armors.
- The arcade style, where you have to put little effort into crafting, farming, etc. It gives a lot more room for PvP, it also gets rid of all the stress that the other FOnline games can give you.
- The excellent base system.
- Decent crafting system.

In my opinion, more people should give it a try, we could use some more audience on this server.

You have to find a map with a lot of rock on north west, and use the sledgehammer you take when you start.
Zone 19:14 if I remember well (near the tent you see at the beggining) is a good place for example.

It's not that badly balanced, decent snipers probably won't be able to carry PA(38 kg) or APA(43-45 kg), then there is no auto-aim. Tanks take very little damage on APAmk2 (60-95 dmg on hex, by bozar), RL does about 20-30. However, there are no SS, only weak healing items and FA, so fights will be different I can imagine.

Gave up after failing to find a single metal part after an hour of playing.

I'm still playing 2238 after a year of not finding a single HQ Chem component....

Gonna give Australia another shot this weekend when I have the time.

5th day Faustralia - tested by me.

Awesome. Good job, more fun more possibilites.

Bad thinks are Polands and other junkie proxie players comming here...

P.S. For some (mc) loosers, there is more healing drugs as SStims. RLs do more damage what was wrotten. Solution is. Try play a dont say blahblah.

VSB is there also. Just before you enter this server you have to fully understand it is a beta. And you are the part of guys who are testing it for further patches, updates, changes, just improving the game. If there will be any questions, join IRC foaustralia.

There are lot of pros, there are cons. Something better, something worse than 2238.

Is it possible to have several bases part of the same faction, or is it one base per faction?

Is it possible to have several tents/caves/houses on the same character or will making a new home delete the old one like on 2238?

The Imperial Bozo Legion: hosted by me and some hawks
Australian Army: hosted by Feltzer (I believe) and some random players
The Plague: hosted by Glumer and some hawks/VSB

Any way to correct the situation?
Title: Re: Fallout Online: Australia

You need to set a faction name. After write ~myinfo. And use number of ID you have there, for inserting it into "recruit a faction member". And you have to recruit yourself at first.
Title: Re: Fallout Online: Australia
Post by: McLooter on January 19, 2013, 01:37:55 am
PvP:
- Mercs (you kill the merc leader, mercs vanish/die)
- For BGs, it's much closer to the last session of 2238, as hexing won't kill a tank in 2-3 bursts, but maybe a non-tank in 1-2.
- For Snipers, you have the gauss pistol and rifle, decent snipers probably won't be able to carry PA/APA. (Haven't tested.)
- Energy weapons have pulse rifle, I heard that it's effective against PA.
- Grenades suck.
- TC.

PvE:
- There are some new encounters, such as zombie hunters, where you'll find some humans with assault rifles fighting zombies.
a. Australian Patrol (Enclave patrol)
- Modified Encounter names.
- Slaves
- Bounty Hunters appear if you are a child killer.

Locations:
Broome: The starter town and imo the best map.
N.R.A.: Copy of NCR but it's a custom map.
Other bland maps such as Parkes, Broken Hills (custom) and Perth
Then there are the reused maps such as New Reno, Navarro, Primal Tribe, Den, Redding (Emu Plains), Gecko (Ashford), San Fransisco (Hobart), etc.
WIP Locations: Sydney and Atoll.

Crafting:
- No professions required. (Except for architect.)
- Build towns, bases, vaults, etc. (Some require the architect profession.)
- All the weapons except vindicator, turbo plasma rifle, etc.

Factions:
- Ranks
- Cave 2, trading post and vaults have faction terminals which allow you to build a faction with.

The way bases work is, if you have a base you are automatically leader of it. You can control the terminals and such, if you make another base. you are then in control of the new base, the one you had before will then not be controlled by you.

Depends on your Timezone.

Quote from: sHoW
What i have to do if it says cannout found fallout.dat and run updater but it dont work. Thanks.

1stly, we never use the updater for ANYTHING all updates are downloaded from the Forums

Secondly, Fallout.dat is included with your Client. unless you downloaded the client that does not contain it specifically. ( For some odd reason ) in this case you should have found out thats you can change the client to use critter.dat and master.dat, In DataFiles.cfg  ( Note the CFG File ) open that up in notepad and replace "fallout.dat" with "critter.dat" and on the next line "master.dat", then place a copy of your Critter and master's into the client folder ( you should have both of those files from playing 2238 ) then the game should run

I think you must open DataFiles.cfg and put this inside it:

Code: [Select]
# Fallout content (master.dat + critter.dat)
fallout.dat

Just put fallout.dat inside the main folder.

I was play it yesterday. It look much better than 2238 but this is really hard for newcomers i think. For making tent you need 50 repair but how you may exp on massacre encounters almost with no gun and ammo? Some maps are uselles.

But it is still good. I giving my hope to this project. If it will be finished may be better than 2238 for sure.

I'm uploading it right now.

I'll update this message as soon as the upload's completed.

BTW, if you're looking for a FOnline to play, be sure to give FO: Desert Europe (http://fode.eu/page/index.html) a try. The server was wiped 3 days ago so now's the ideal time for any new player to join and see if they like it.

Here it is: http://www.multiupload.nl/3JGTERZ159.

FO: AUS in all its "glory." Enjoy.

I am having trouble downloading this link for singleplayer. Is the link again dead or are you out of bandwidth?

Hey guys, as its the School Holidays I have had plenty of time to work on fixing bugs and adding new features.

New Features:
- Pregnancy Timer ( For ~Breed )

- Slaves can now be used to mine and harvest the following.
    - Wood
    - Cotton
    - Corn
    - Apples
    - Minerals
    - Iron Ore
    - Cabbage

Its wonderful! and also, if you give them a bottle of ( un-purified ) water and a shovel, they can regrow the plants to continue harvesting them.

And for stone, give them a sledgehammer to be able to mine forever.

- More Desert Encounters have iron and other useful materials.

Bug Fixes:
Console spam with warnings and lags when hosting LAN Server.
Mercs and Slaves killing their master ( Not Guarenteed ,but it should be working now. )

Standard Installation, Just extract the AusData folder into your client folder ( folder that has fonline.exe in it ) and merge/over-write with anything it asks you to.

Enjoy Folks! Have a good day!

And I am also having issues retrieving it from Multi-Upload. I might upload it to Mega.co.nz as soon as I can, but if somebody else wants to beat me to that they are most welcome.

Try using a web-proxy to connect to the download servers. Unfortunately I am unable to upload to another mirror right now.

Our announcement will be up on the moddb here (http://www.moddb.com/games/fallout-online-australia) very soon. I can exclusively say PVP gives XP now!
