Firelight is not red it is yellow.

It has to be light orange, if anything. Also it's not a bug and I like it more how it is now.

The animation from Fallout/Fallout 2 actually is showing the red light (watch the fireplace in tent). For me lightning is OK.

I know it's different from the reality, but... :D

I like it red, It reminds me of the red light district when walking into NCR at night
