Dogs are a complete waste of caps, why can you even buy them? they are useless, they barley start out with the power to kill a bloody ant.
And if u get an encounter with 4 G geckos or raiders kiss ur dogs goodbye.Unless u got huge ap and can leave map b4 they die.
Oh yeah they giv 100 outdoor, but that dont matter when a swarm of ants or rats will kill him.

The price of dogs?? Example : dog with 21/21 hp cost me say 800 caps...1 hr later i buy another dog with 26/26 hp for 500.
??!!!!?!!?????!!!!???

Yes i said that in the post.
I wanted 2 dog companions, for the novelty, cuz im a trader.
But if they cant kill/protect me from ants, then oh well.

Also do u need them with u when u lvl up, for them to lvl up? I assume not.

And the prices are way too random, 500 caps for 26/26 hp dog, then later 800 caps for a 21/21 hp dog. Am i to assume the the 800 caps 21/21 hp
dog has better unarmed than 500 caps 26/26 hp dog?

It takes you about 3 secs to get to the exit grid in realtime if you act fast ... then your dogs wont die, you save time and money ...

And also, the more people buy dogs the more they cost ... im pretty sure thats how the price works for dogs, similar to mercs.

As it has been said in many other threads about dogs/mercs and car mechanics, that price just keeps inflating. It's a dog. It's used to help newbs fight off scorpions and can be one-hit killed, yet due to inflation it costs 800+ caps (eventually it will get up to like 2000 caps if game mechanics stay the same, as it did last pre-wipe).

Right now buying a dog isn't worth it at all.

Well i finished FO1, 2 times and FO2, 4 times. So im quite used to the Fallout Turn-based system.
The origanals never had Lag-time...i mean RT.

Dogs are worthless. Their real value is about 50 caps maybe even less. But they are considered as buyable mercs and because of that they are so expensive. You will do better if you just buy yourself a healthy trapper slave (from some player-slaver). Before wipe I have found only trappers with more than 130 outdoorsman (my level of outdoor.) with 3-4 times more HP than dogs have and with metal armour (but I am not sure of that).

Dogs are only for people who want companion and not combat machine. (and even brahmin is better for that ;D)

before wipe dogs are no stealable, co u can go with all mats to workbench near x stealers.

A bought a dog for this exact reason, but it didn't help me skip a single encounter. Then a marauder one shot it.

They should get a small defense boost and have a set price of 50 caps, even if you have 5 with you you won't be killing anything higher than lvl 3.

Their pricing needs reworking. Being a weak mule with high-OD isn't that much of an issue imo, since they can be steered outta harms way with enough micro-management. However currently they just cost too much for the benefit (you can get trapper-slaves for 3x cheaper from players). Should be a solid 50 or 100 caps instead of having a fluctuating price.

Just why people takes weak dogs that got 100 outdoorsman? Just check few slaves outdoorsman: Trapper (male) and Trapper (female) they are stronger and can take more damage than dogg
