8 ropes and 8 gold nuggets have the same weight but :
- 8 ropes = 800 caps
- 8 gold nuggets = 400 caps
So please can you just balance the weight so the gold nuggets would become useful to trade.

It's true value lies in the sick throwing damage.

Ooooh, two more damage than a rock (and still costs 4 AP). ::) Deadly.

I'd quite like it if rocks did a reasonable amount of damage. Like, say, 5 - 10. Just be kind of fun, y'know? Not overpowered, but plausibly useful to low level throwing characters.

Out of curiosity... since when is the weight of an item the indicator for it's value? :> What I see wrong in here is that gold nuggets should maybe give more caps than ropes, if we go from some more ralistic view. But then again, if there is no use for gold nuggets in a post apocalyptic world, ropes can become more valuable again.

Well, it's a simple logic I guess : corresponding to their weight, the gold nuggets should give MUCH money. Or you make it weight far less, and their price stayl, or you increase the caps given to make it realistic with his weight.
But then again, if there is no use for gold nuggets in a post apocalyptic world, ropes can become more valuable again.
Gold is so useless that 3 towns are fighting for it and Redding's citizen are afraid of their future.

Since the time, you abandon value counting from the caps price and you derive price from ingame time you need to spend to buy something..

Well at the moment there is nothing realistic or balanced in the commercial system of the game. So I ask to reduce the weight not to be realistic but logical.
Or just remove gold nuggets and give another thing as a reward for TC...

You can also punch people with them, it has rp value at least.

In a post-apo world is it realistic or roleplay to throw gold on the face of people ? ::)

Gold is just for looks, its a pretty useless metal. Clean water and food would be way more valuable.

well, it isn't a wasteland per-se really, otherwise we wouldn't really have more than one faction claiming dominion over all the lands, and as far as I know there are "silverspoon-up-ass" people conveniently located in VC, New Reno & NCR, therefore, gold can be exchanged for great tech in those places, otherwise redding wouldn't have spung up in the first place... I'm just going Mr. Lore on your ass, nothin personal...
