Bring in TLA Hell to Fonline 2238.
- Great caps sink - more you die - more you pay to be replicated not in Hell.
It will make players respect their live and will prevent zombie-troll returns to battlefield with 10hp. It will make caps valuable.

The idea is pleasant, but demands completions
I suggest to use existing jail

FOnline: 2238 is not TLA.

Hell was one of the things on TLA that I liked very much, it's a very good idea, so I think - yes, there should be something like that, but it needs to be discussed.
-
Hell was one of the things in last obt that a lot people hated to death. Especially new players who didn't got any money and died because of whatever reason. In my opinion, the Hell is a bad idea for forced money drain, because it only hurts the ones who don't have much. Every bigger gang doesn't need to care about it.
-
^ was there first 100 replications free? :D
And big gang will start care when after 5987 death in town controll event their replicate bill will be over 500,000 caps.
-
Hell no!
People would start to make horrendous number of barter-alts if their caps were to sink
If you want death to be more severe i've came upon this idea: While in weakened state you would have 1-3 bodyparts crippled until cooldown reaches zero

I think we should scrap weakness, it doesn't serve any purpose anymore. It was intended to stop characters coming back into combat the second after they died, if I remember correctly. But now doctor can cure it. Gangs will have doctors, new players probably don't have the skill or know any doctors.
All it does is make the game harder for new characters. Veterans and gangs already have an easy ride.
-
Dont forget that TLA doesnt have any weakness and u respawn with full health, so it is either weakness or hell. Anyway, switching wouldnt make it any easier for newbies, it would still be hard for them.

It kinda makes sense that big gangs and veterans have it easier than newbies, doesnt it?

Then make weakness incureable by doctor

Jesus Christ, nearly vomited while reading this WoW-like suggestion of epic proportions that destroys everyone witouth barter skill, barter alt and PVP faction that controls towns...
-
What about that to remove weakness it is necessary to eat
!!!!!???? :) And if make slower map speed..........
And increase time in Dead condition!!!! ;)
And hell I think bad Idea......
-
Hell is fun and entertaining on tla but would be shit on 2238, random spawnpoints and weakness is good enough imo :)
-
Hell is one of greatest things on TLA, only one thing I didn't enjoy was people from "outerside" could came there and camp to kill people trying to escape ;)
Currently death has almost no penalty on 2238 (don't moan about losing stuff, If your friends are alive you usually will get it back), and often is used to "heal" crippled/poisoned/radiated status. But since idea of "cash sink" doesn't fit well in 2238, some kind of evil raiders cave/jail/mad scientist hideout/mutants laboratory would fit better. Mechanism of putting characters there could be based on deaths per hour ratio and luck/gambling check, or some similar way (yep sometimes someone just get unlucky;)).

Hell yeah, this is a horrible idea, if you like tla so much please by all means go back there, we wont miss you.

Eventhough I dont want to change the current death penalty system, I like the idea of spawn point in some mutant lab:-). There could be few dead mutants and one alive BoS paladin, telling u that u were lucky that they just discovered the lab, that u were about to be dipped. Similar concept as Modoc spawn point, which is great.
-
so for this to be possible wouldnt the master still have to be alive and then on top of that wouldnt the wasteland be totally fucked and eveyrone would be a mutant?
-
Nobody told you that the cathedral still exists in our timeline?
-
You wouldnt be a mutant, it would be just stylish respawn point nothing more. The BoS killed the mutants, u are safe to leave. As I said, simmilar concept to Modoc respawn.
-

haha thats a sore subject for me i guess, if you could explain the timeline that would be super awesome cause as the plot of FO1 unfolded the master pretty much had a strangle hold and was going to take over the wasteland by turning vault dwellers into mutants. basically he was going to take over and would have succeded if the dweller didnt kill him... sooo i guess is there any way you can tell us in your own words what went down instead? like did the dweller die in the showdown with the master instead of succeding?
also if the masters alive shouldnt the encounter of the remnants of the masters army be changed to the masters army and should also be encounterable around the cathedral.

Actually I really like the kind of way death is handled yet. First, you have the weakness there. Then, you lose all your objects (not everyone wanders around with swarms of other gang members). It's ok as it is I think. So why overhaul a system which is good working to a (imo) crappy one?
Also did you ever wake up in this little hut in the middle of the wastes? There are 2-3 farmers, who found you out in the wasteland and tried to resurrect you, etc. Together with the dialogue its really amazing and believable. So a couple of crazy hubologists that turn dead into living ones for cash in a place like "hell"? Comeon.. ::)
