Title: XL70E3 tweaks

Increase single shot range to something between 45 and 48, and damage to 12-25, so it is better than assault rifle(12-21; range: 42), but worse than sniper rifle (14-34; range: 50).
This would make it a versatile weapon for lone snipers who could use burst mode when surrounded by enemies, actually making it worth using at all.
For burst P90 would still be better because it fires 12 bullets, not 8, and costs 1 AP less...

Yeah. It's kinda ridiculous that an Avenger has a higher range than a rifle with a scope.

I can't think of a good reason not to. While we're at it, can anyone think of any other guns that nobody ever uses - in neither PvP nor solo?

Agreed, this weapon needs a serious buff.
Its a tier 3 weapon yet the assault rifle is far better.

Well, if i follow 'nobody ''ever'' uses' then theres no list, but imo generally the ''least used guns'' are
-XL70E3
-M60
-shotgun
-sawed-off shotgun
-pancor jackhammer
-tommy gun

Thats my guess.

scratch the jackhammer, CAWS and Jackhammer are perfect for Pve, and Jackhammer can be used properly when fighting close quarters (though no one uses it since there are better alternatives) Shotguns are newbie weapons, and are fine.
There is a discussion thread about the tommy gun out there, they aren't going to change it I think.
M60 needs a buff yes, ammo wise.

Hmm, what about the energy pistols?

Cheap starter weapon for EW builds. And pretty deadly to, dont underestimate it. the range is supreme for a pistol, same for damage. But its pretty bad for fast shot people though, but then again, who takes fast shot with EW?
I use it myself to troll with if I want to, or if i need cheap protection. Also it's a great crippler weapon, since it has great range and low ap usage. Heck I could say its the best crippler weapon out there, though you will never damage your enemies if you take finesse along with it.

All energy weapons are good. Laser pistol is very good in PvE, especially leveling on high-xp encounters. AFAIK laser has different crit tables (better), and (maybe a coincidence) i, when lvling EW sniper, use laser pistol, not plasma pistol because it scores big crits and instakills alot more often. Plasma pistol aint bad either tho, large guaranteed damage, you dont have to rely on crits that much. Well, laser rifle is pretty much the backbone of EW and plasma rifle, altought sucky range, i guess aint bad either.

Plasma rifle lost a bit his interest because it don't have a critical table as good as laser, but you can still deal good damage.

P90 Uses Enough Ammo already, and yea, i agree with the XK70E3, but no one really makes it, because it requires so much...

All weapons use the same Critical table.


XL70 will eventually be made uncraftable. Assault Rifle (If it is not already) will be made so that it is decent enough to be used in PvP on its own merits.

Whats the point of making it uncraftable if it sucks already? It would be nice if special weapons were obtainable from encounters, but as it is now you can only get heavily deteriorated and broken items from them, making you to farm them....hmmmm

It used to be better than the Assault Rifle, then we boosted the AR. At the time we were thinking about what should be done with the XL70 and the HPFA and we had the problem where we were having to leave AR and FN FAL down a level to make room for the HPFA and XL70.

So we raised the AR to a reasonably competitive level, FN FAL needs a bit more still, and the other two will be removed from being craftable. I'm sure they will be boosted and made available in faction scenarios for high ranking members of NPC factions, but they won'tbe generally available.

The problem with any encounter based system is the amount of encounters that occur on the server. A massive amount happen, so if anything comes from them then you get flooded by them.

Not all energy weapons are good - Gatling Laser. It's totaly useless, except against psycho big gunners. But its still crap. Low damage and the most expensive weapon in use.

But its quite common. Enklave patrols, shops, special encounters. Everyone got it.. No one use it.

Yes, but maybe devs can do somethin with Gatling also. It would be good for pvp players. New build, EW burster. Sounds cool ;)
