Title: NPC driven factions recruitment!

1.The idea is to implement RANKS to every main faction

2. Ranks could be settled by:

3. There would be a daily limit of acquired rank points (lets say 40) so as to not advance too fast in the ranks.
Each promotion should be given after meeting the rank points cap for particular level AND completion of a promotion quest upon which youd be declared of some higher rank.

4A Among the players with highest amount of gained rank points (could be week/month based) special/rare items would be dispensed, lets say:

NCR

VC

Enclave

Raiders

BOS

I think this is more or less balanced. This is to encourage players to work for the faction. BOS main prize is quite lame but I couldnt think of anything more or less equal  :-\

4B OF COURSE this could be changed to some rank point cap system so that when you acquire enough points you can "spend" them on the prizes, but nontheless you can acquire them only once a day/week/month as above. I guess that would be easier to implement so here it goes:

1 prize point = 1 rank point. Prize points vanish every month (your rank points do not however)


5. Rank points
While in one of the factions people obtain rank points by doing quests or killing other faction members (NPC encounters) so that:

NCR member kills a member of:

VC member kills a member of

Enclave member kills a member of

Raider member kills a member of

BOS member kills a member of

Of course for killing a member of the same faction bears some consequences:


6. RANKS.
Different NPC factions have different rank systems. The aim of acquiring ranks are rewards (below), but acquisition of rank doesnt mean you'll simply obtain it and then wont do anything (below req). Acquiring a rank of NCR/VC general would mean that every day of real time gameplay youd automatically get -30 rank points that would be drawn for you to replenish (for sake of loyalty - you acquire rank slower and slower). If you dont follow your destiny and your points will fall below 100 points of previous rank (below 7400 in case of NCR/VC general) youd be downgraded to previous rank.

VC, NCR (based on http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Military_ranks):

Enclave (based on http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Military_ranks)

BOS (based on http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Brotherhood_of_Steel_ranks)

Raiders' ranks are the only missing, but I guess they could be like below (your imput needed  ::))

7. Rewards For obtaining the particular level of rank points one would get bonuses:

1st Option

2nd Option

I also thought that NCR, VC, BOS could give penalty for PvP (-1 rank point) but Im not sure if thats OK. Of course no + points for Enclave or raiders. That would be too much  ;D

The numbers are of course to be adjusted. I probably got them wrong (so much of them xD). Feel free for comment. All credits to Gordulan for the idea. I simply developed the idea further than BoS.

PA would be for acquiring highest rank. According to the idea above it would take 2-3 months of real time gameplay. So dont spam about alting

You've said that making "recruitement" in NPC Driven faction is non sense because that's No Player Character... so I don't see your point of playing this game really.
If you're playing it only for PvP or PK I think you shouldn't take part in discussions like this.

I didnt write NPC faction NPC recruitment  :-X. And yes, the topic is non-player character DRIVEN (managed) factions recruiting players  :-\ I hope it cleared a lot

NPC control and run the faction core wheareas players, instead of NPCs vs NPCs, are the soldiers :p


Similar things are already planned. Wait for future updates.

I hope some ideas here will help  ;D

Definitely a nice idea. I hope that one day soon (rather sooner than "soon") we will be able to join whole PC gangs under NPC factions and gain their trust and climb up in the chain of command in military factions or earn their trust and get special bonuses for that. I can already imagine those ways how to roll BoS paladin/scribe/scientist, NCR ranger/city guard,  Enclave patrol etc...

But as it was said there are already plans for NPC factions (since the beginning of the OBT) but something like you described would be really cool and I hope we will get something similar.

Please elaborate? Well if someone will alt doing this... hes pretty welcomed... the requirements and maintenance of the rank will be pretty pain in the ass for alt-person. Rank points are nontransferable.

I think he just means get your BoS alt, get the power armour, give it to your gang main.

Unless PA required training to wear.

Or, y'know, instead of PA the laser rifles or M60s or beef jerky or whatever.

Even without it going to the highest rank would cost somebody a lot of effort. I didnt count but it would take really really long (max 40 rank points per real day plus points are dimnishing with higher rank) so it would just for chosen ones


EDIT: I counted how much time would it get to get to 10 000 for VC,NCR

The answer is 471,5 real life days  ;D Woops it could be a bit shorter like 3-4 months or so  :-\ But you get the idea, full commitment, no life for such a long time... hm nobody would alt then :p

And how would like to restrict player alting? Its impossible. Simply, it would take a lot of time and effort and you would be rewarded for it... if anyone would like to alt... well hed had no life for 2-3 months and then just to lose it in TC? Why not :p Anyhow once youd achieve the highest rank after this 2 or 3 months of loyal play youd be able to sacrifice all the points for PA, no need to alt.

Have you read the 1st post?

Maximum of 40 rank points per day. Points are nontransferable nor shareable. One would need 2-3 months of real time gameplay to achieve highest rank with full commitment. Well if somebody would risk his PA for 1 TC Id be amazed  ;D

FACEPALM if you just read the post above yours. It would be unbelievably fucking long and demanding to gain one. Also I wrote PA would be available for every faction but everyone says its in BOS, lol.

Some info would be nice.

About PA or any highest prize - it should be the same for all factions because I think some people could alt on that system creating some inequalities (some players would get a set of most prestigous items while this is not a point. The point is to spark people interest, some aim to follow your faction.)

I also thought people could have coloured titles with rank next to the name. Would be nice

Anyway.

NPC factions will change soon, as Solar said otherwhere, with the "Domination" mode. Please post your sugeston again (taking account of comments wrote here) after Domination is implemented.
