Just like in topic:
We can make more sg balanced - if we make :
A)longer bursts for burst weapons or "all clip burst" for some weapons like - p90, smg, grease gun etc.
In Big Guns can be added singe shoot - for killing low tier mobs - like scorpions,rats etc. (For LSW and M60)
For Energy weapons we can add:
A)Overload option for Laser rifles, pistols - it would use more ammo/ all clip
B)longer plasma charge for plasma rifles, pistols - like up
Also these options (overload, longer charge and longer burst can make them more detoriate or explode in hands - if you dont have enough luck or we are jinxed :))

ok lemme know how can you fire just one bullet from minigun... I wanna see it :D

Read carefully - i didnt said that minigun would make single shot lol - only lsw or/and m60 :)
Aaaand to the p90 and smg- i will say once - when we have lasers in game - its not needed to be Real life simulation -:P
Edit: If you think if its simulation - fine - just add "often broking gun in fight" or "repair the sniper rifle lock while TC fight" :) now you see - its not real guns simulation :P

Well but how do you want to introduce these changes? So we will click like mad to our weapon icon until we find the proper attack that we desire? Kinda clumsy since its already pain in the ass to do so. Maybe some icon to switch between attacks f.e. current burst/1shots/aimed attacks will be under primary weapon fire, while what you suggest will be under secondary. And to shoot 1 bullet attacks with BG or overload shots with EG and so on, one will have to switch to secondary weapon mode that could have 1-2 types of attack.
So maybe:
SG
Primary: shot / aimed shot / burst
Secondary: fullout (whole clip per 1 burst) / eagle-eye (you can ignore your weapon range and you can shoot at the target no matter how far it is)
BG
Primary: shot / burst
Secondary: spread shot (you will burst in 45° angle consuming half of your clip) / one bullet (self explanatory)
EG
Primary: shot / aimed shot / burst
Secondary: overload (greater dmg but more ammo consumed, projectile looses its energy over larger distance) / prep shot (you can prepare your first shot few moments ahead, giving the 1st shot better chance to travel longer distances and penetrate armors with more ease)
Throw
Primary: throw
Secondary: carpet bombing (self explanatory) / nade rain (you can throw high, really high, in fact you can overthrow some buildings)

I see you don't know anything about war
of course it can't be "often broken gun in fight" becouse soldiers must clean their guns very often (except russians and other people who use ak-47 unbrekable weapon ^^)
M60 can't shoot too in single mode ;p (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M60_machine_gun)
about lsw idk becouse lsw is type not a weapon in real ;p

Yeah i wanted to post that LSW is real weapon - and it have scope in game - so we can make it more usefull :).
About M60 i didn't know - thanks to say me that.
Also i saw movie Full Metal Jacket - and i know what is discipline - but the world is harasher - and we dont have it - so if you want clean it use repair on it ( something like - if weapon is more detoriatet , or used , it parts will break faster or block in weapon and you will need to clean it,repair it)

I dunno about these suggestions, IMHO the current system is complex enough (simple and fast)...
What I would like though is if the range of weapons was removed and instead each weapon would have its specific fuctions:
a) damage - distance
b) chance of hit - distance

This idea is WIN.
Smallgun bursters would finally have a chance with full clip burst, bguns would be able to NOT waste ammo when they need to on small ass critters, energy weapons would have a chance at tesla armored mofos but not too much since their crits pretty much do the damage already.

I expect to see horrible hit chances when you bleed an entire magazine over the weapons set burst, that's a lot of muzzle climb to control.
I also expect to see higher explosion (failure can = boom! radius explosion) and weapon break chances with overcharged EW. You risk a lot pushing an energy weapon over it's limits.

what about a custom menu, if you got few guns, you can open menu and "merge" them, by a repair, somewhat a system like in Fallout 3, so you dissasemble them and useful parts put into one gun? but only if you got SG/EG/BG Crafter profession (on guns which are craftable only by prof.)

This idea is ludicrous and so useless... but yes, theres no single shot BG and big clip burst SG but thats self explanatory

You can't discount certain aspects of Fallout 3 just because Bethesda sucks ass. The interchange of parts in repair isn't Bethesda's idea, it's just common sense.
Don't be quick to discount logic, that's called ignorance.

I think there could be 2 ways to repair:
1) based on repair skill
2) based on repair skill and exchange parts (so lets say when you click repair and youll be below a repair lvl to repair it, it will say in description "you need 1 MP (junk w/e)" then simply MP or any other thing should be placed in hand or be left in inventory and use repair skill, why not.
Now you can better make a new weapon than repair it while you have low repair skill (10mm pistol, lvl 1 weaps)
