Title: Gunrunners exploit... again!!!
Post by: Enzo on July 23, 2010, 04:44:54 pm
Again someone is exploiting the fact, that Gunrunners dont loot dead bodies... I was shopping at Gunrunners, when I read in status box, that someone is screaming that gunrunners dont loot deadies... I quickly tried to run, because it was obvious to me, that it could be some exploiters again... and I was right... next to the entrance there was waiting a guy with nickname Najemnik and when I was near to exitgrid I was bombed by some grenadier and this guy then came to loot my body...
Lucky me I didnt have too much equipment and my loss was just about 2000 caps, but still it makes me angry, that this bug is known for so long and no one is doing anything to fix it...
I tried to requesthelp, but no GM was online atm...

here is screenshot of my dead body and the Najemnik guy... sadly I dont know who was his friend/s

Erm... u got pwned again, sad, true. I have a question for u: are u really sure what u will not be killed there anymore if devs will fix guards looting corpses bug? No! there are no places in this wasteland where u will be 100% safe, admit it.

yes, no one is safe in fo, but is true that the guards would love to take the loot too, so give them a chance  ;D

yeah, but maybe even you (when you pull your head out of your butt) can see, that there is difference, when someone kills you in wasteland, and when someone is exploiting mistakes of some locations... or do you see me crying somewhere, that I was killed in wasteland by some cruel player? well... I dont think so... so please http://9gag.com/photo/13569_540.jpg (http://9gag.com/photo/13569_540.jpg)

I'd say it comes under the same category as Caravan Traps and using the party system to follow people back to base. It's technically within the parameters of the game, but it's taking advantage of the game's shortcomings/stuff intended for a legitimate purpose.

If the guards were prepared to shoot a guy for attacking someone else, they'd be prepared to shoot the guy trying to loot both of them. I vote guards loot everything and shoot anyone who grabs stuff first.

This is fuelled by my hatred of the cockroaches that swarm dead guys in the NCR.

Unless the killer killed an unprotected player.
Give some credit to folks shooting thieves in NCR.
But it's probably hard to impossible to implement that.

i couldnt agree more with badger, and it would work like my previous suggestion on town guards, and besides, CARAVAN guards DO shot you if you loot stuff, why cant guards in towns do just the same? if u die, stuff that gets grabbed gets the grabber shot to death by guards. simple as that
i also made a thread about those same guys, with a screenie and log too, JAIL THEM

Yeah Atleast Im satisfied that the killer dont get the loot and then they wont go to gunrunner and do these stuff.
Anyway I went there and got my revenge Killed Najemnik before the guards kill me.
Im going back there and try to kill them again anyone wanna come?

Amazing, there are people out there, who instead of whining to the GMs, actually solve their problems by themselves.

I share your sentiment, but I just can't call this a "solution"...
Wasteland is harsh, we like it that way.
But that doesn't mean AI problems are not problems. Sometimes deciding what is exploiting is and what not can be hard... but lets just imagine what would the guards really do if they weren't dumb NPCs - if someone starts shooting their customers they shoot him, who is with him possibly too and everyone who takes anything from the bodies too, since it's their territory and they are no carebears either.

Najemnik was banned for exploiting (blocking bridge which stopped guard reaction) and some guards were added on the other side of the river as a quick fix.

what about muchamor and harnok1? they were cooperating with him...

I didn't see harnok1 doing anything, and all muchamor did (when I was there) was attacking other player, so he is free for now.
