Title: Silent Death Perk
Post by: Tommy Lau on July 23, 2010, 02:30:18 am
so i am questioning this perk, Silent Death
it's a level 18 perk that does this:

While Sneaking, if you hit a critter in the back, you will cause double damage using a hand-to-hand attack. Silent Death is that kind of Perk.

Here is the wiki article
http://www.fo2238.fodev.net/wiki/Silent_Death

the big question i have is that, does this perk affect only critters? as stated? or players too?

for have a effect to player you must be sneaking to the back of a player but with the fov actually I think you are spotted from 3 hex, so only for critter I suppose, but I hope some people that understand this better than me will answer to you

Players are simply PC controlled critters generated through the registration.

your sneak dont break automaticly if he see you.
so it should work while in sneak modus.
after the attack sneak is broken for sure.

Yes, it should work, but who's gonna check it?

it should give auto crit and/or +something for crit hit table (more likely knockouts), instead of x2 damage then it would have some use. atm i dont see any use for this perk, but there are many other broken perks and such so i dont think silent death that much of priority

Too true, but thats only because we're dealing with other players and not npcs....

I like your idea of the Silent Death perk btw, seems reasonable considering you'd have to aim and run at click the body part at the exact precise moment plus hope the target doesnt move which makes it a very risky move in the first place for such a low reward.
