just like the topic states, I believe a perma death server would be fantastic, for a more gritty realistic portrayl of the harsh world of fallout. Tell me what you thin...

beatiful with the right kind of player base, actually I suppose no one will trust to talk with a stranger, low level bomber awaiting smiling in the city , with some plasma nade or fast shooter with sgm for welcome noobs, you will end to talk and play with yours friend in your tent or base.
Not so interactive.

I would love a SDK, I'd welcome the 100 new stupid/laggy/useless servers~~ because 2 or 3 different servers would emerge with High Population Densities~~ Different servers would have different styles in order to cater to a wider player base.

TLA has permadeath, but you can pay for replication(with caps). Kind of roleplaying.

If you can pay for replication it's not true permadeath. It's horrible implementation, because the only people who can die are poor noobs.

Not hard to imagine what will happen.
Players from the big PvP groups will be the only ones populating the server.
Everyone else don't stand a chance, so they won't try.

Good idea once the SDK comes out. Once we are able to run our own servers, you can pretty much guarantee that someone will have permadeath, so long as there is an option for it.
I, myself, might be interested in working on a "cooperative"server with permadeath, rp, actual items, and quests...

i'd like that too, as long as it's mostly free from OMGIMZOPUWEFULZFEARZMAHMINIGUNNOOBZYOMOMMAZGONNAPLAYWITMEH kind of people, but then againg there will be a server just for them so they can kill each other.

on server with permadeath those who kill without any reason would really became public enemies, globaly hated, it would finally mean something when you're good.
also It'd need removing namecolorizing feature :D

How about you also have to drink water and eat food at least five times every week or else you becomes weak than die after awhile.
Also diseases that are non-curable, and ammunition can dud, and weapons can jam and break. If you don't sleep you become weaker the next day until you eventually die from exhaustion or collapse on the spot, left to get eaten by wild dogs.

I don't see about what we should discuss here. The server would be dominated by the big PKing factions which means that the server is empty within a week because nobody wants to start over and over again. Paying something to respawn would be an advantage for big factions too. Losing EXP based on your level would be a pretty good idea in my opinion.

Don't see a problem at losing like 6 to 7k at level 21. Should be easy to level up again and it lets people think about what they're doing.

So every death in TC would mean you lose the time it took you to craft your stuff AND the time to gain 6 to 7k AND the time needed to craft the stuff for hunting? So what you're saying is that for every 5 minutes of fighting we should spend over 50 minutes doing boring, repetitive shit? Screw you and your ideas ::)
