Man those were awesome rts's. Except for the third one where they released a totally broken game that can't get past the 7th level.
-
They were RTS's ? I thought they were point&click games.
-
You're thinkin of Myst, and that was good game also.
-
This was an rts from bungie during their golden years
-
oh god Myth...
Fuck you man, you just made me miss the good old times :(
-
Although they did make better games before, you can't say they haven't made at least some decent games in the later years... Or can you? :P
-
i am tempted to say: yes, there was nothing.
since the industry supported 3d cards instead of good storys or gameplay ideas,
there was nothing but useless shit.
a shame, feels like the most games are simply a bad copy, of a bad copy of (mostly noncomercial) good ideas in the 90´s .

Marathon was an amazing series back in the stone age, had a way better plot than halo.
-
I've seen pictures of it, looks nice. I have a penchant for that kind of bitmap textures bump :D
my favorite was always "point and click Adventures.
i will never forget "broken sword 1" that´s the best adventure i ever played.
and then they made the serie in 3d to destroy everything. (i have a dejavue)
not the first genre that died that way. :'(
edit: also "baldur´s gate" (yes, the ugly isometric stuff) pushed me in my couch for many months.

hmm, but you gotta admit, dragon age, and in fact most of the Bioware games are great in terms of story and playability, just speaking my mind...
-
i didn´t managed to play dragon age until the end.
that was that time where i found fonline. but it seems great, that right.
also bioshok lies here on my table.
the beginning was nice.. maybe its my fault and i should go back to singleplayer from time to time.
last game i realy tryed to play were fallout 3.. after 2 days on high difficulty i reached the lvl 20 cap and stoped playing.. :-\
all the skills and gamemechanics were totaly buged, but we all know that.
hehe and back to the topic (sorry about my digression) i played once a myst part, just for a few days,
i am not so patiently with that super riddles. hardcore logic and all.

Getting DragonAge soon and omg the Mass Effect series is fucking beast...
The combat is run of the mill but the story is as original as it gets and the fact that it can go the way you want it with your actions is even better than going to the movies to watch it. (If you could go to the movies they'd be sold out in minutes though...)
-
I hated mass effect, you always use the same 2-3 skills and walk around in the same giant mall. The story is such cut and paste bullshit sci fi too.

Original:
Geth, Reapers, Weaponry, aliens (most), planets, most of story, etc...
Copy/pasted:
Asari, ...?
-
I don't mean from the original, I mean the generic sci fi storyline. So many games/movies/books that involves evil mysterious machine race bent on killing everything.

Yes, and all Sci-Fi Stories are unique to each other, everyone, in every novel/game/movie is a standalone one, whch got it's breakthrough.
Of course, Mass Effect is the only media which assembles all the clichés in the Sci-Fi world. Every other medium is a stand alone thing and completely fleshed out by some noble price winning author.
Of course, Mass Effect is just a random sci fi adventure! Ofcourse, you (if you are Roachor and you are playing on "Easy") are just spamming two buttons, two Skills.
That all these skills were good balanced on the higher difficutlies is probably beyond your reach. :)
In the end, just another spam post of you.

I played it on the hardest setting as I do with every game, it's just boring. It's just a kotor clone. You run out of tampons or something you're not usually this much of a bitch.

For all interested in Myth (especially 2nd one) - its engine is still in development by its own community, right after Bungiee gave source out.
Here you can find all required info: http://www.mariusnet.com/
Btw. Imho Myth2 best RTT game that was ever released
-
Now if you want a mediocre fucking KOTOR game i suggest you get DragonAge.
The combat is shit for the most part.
BUT:
The storytelling a Dialogue is perfectly mastered and executed though and thats the only reason I keep playing it ;D.
Besides that its fucking hilarious, telling someone they're a bitch in flippin medieval times is the shit!
