How about making it so that when a new person starts following, a popup appears, a sound plays, the screen flashes, anything?
What do you make out of training players like dogs to scan the follower list every time they go to their tent?

yes, the wasteland is harsh to those not vigilant

It does when you are travelling.... look to the left of the screen and see if you have a party. If you do, you have two choices: A> Take them to a random spot in the wasteland and kill them, if you can or B> just kick them out of the party

Jeoshua: well, my opinion is that the indicator is poorly visible, and it should attract attention whenever a new person joins the party.

So what you're saying is that you were wandering the wastelands, and basically, to translate it into more in-game roleplaying terms... didn't check to see if anyone was following you. And you want the GAME to say "hey, theres someone following you"
I'm normally against difficulty through obscurity, but in this situation it makes sense. If you aren't watching your back, you shouldn't expect the game to do it for you.

Hmm well it would be handy, but at the same time i must vote for no. As said before if you dont pay attention to followers
its your loss when they raid your tent. Then again theres also people like me who love taggers, who knows how much gear ive gotten
from people who followed me just to get gangbanged by my 5 minions waiting in tent set to attack anyone.
