Title: No more Perception requirement for Better Critical
Post by: Ganado on June 15, 2010, 12:13:49 am
Right now, Better Criticals is only a Perk that snipers would ever take. Better Critical requires 6 PE, and I don't think this should be necessary.

I would like to see it used in more builds, and one of these builds being an Unarmed build. Why should Better Critical only be reserved for Sniper builds? With any reasonable Unarmed build, you couldn't get Better Critical because you most likely have  1 PE to make up for the other special stats.

Having Better Criticals could be perfect for a unarmed crippler as it already is for a sniper, and it would make an unarmed be able to compare to a sniper's criticals.

That PE requirement is cannon Fallout.  Nobody ever complained before.

And why shouldn't one need PE to get more criticals? If anything, they should need PE AND LK

That stubborn thinking isn't doing any good. And if More Criticals needed PE then that would just limit even more variety in builds (also that wouldn't be "fallout cannon"  ::))

you dont get a critical with a knife because of how good your eyes are.

Perception isn't about seeing, it's about how well you understand what your senses tell you.

Le sigh... So many flawed arguments that could be turned back around on you and shown the absurdity.

The statement "That stubborn thinking isn't doing any good" is an ad hominem is it not? I could say the exact same thing about you, as it is a statement so generic and bland that it fits in any situation when there are people opposing you.

If lowering the SPECIAL requirement for a perk or two would open up more build varieties was enough of a reason to do so, why not just remove all special requirement for perks entirely? It would maximize the amount of builds possible after all...

you dont get a critical with a knife because of how good your eyes are.

You don't extra damage in real life just because you "had a crit" The tie in to perception could seen as seeing an opponent's movement and position, and knowing where shoot to hit major organs to deal out that extra damage.

knowledge of anatomy would fall under doc skill not pe.

But that doesn't override my assertion that PE is about how well you understand your surroundings in general... NOT your vision specifically.

You need to have good eyesight to see the position your target is in at a great distance.

Yes but what does that have to do with what we are discussing?

You need to have good eyesight to see the position your target is in at a great distance.

And yet you still need it when your target is standing in front of you? I don't see why the requirement could be changed.
For people with <6 pe the perk only works at Melee range, and for people with 6> pe for all ranges. Happy now?
