The Dev closed it because it wasn't a bug, but I agree we should bring it up for the sake that a sniper rifle should just be as accurate as a junky hunting rifle with a scope on it, but it isn't.
Also you might want to quote yourself again on how with a Scoped Hunting rifle you can get better accuracy at 40 hexes than with a Sniper Rifle at 40 hexes. I agree Sniper should be more accurate too (or at least as accurate as Scoped Hunting Rifle at long distances).

yes and thats why it should be added to sniper rifle. Pancor jackhammer price 5k useless from long range, sniper rifle price 5k, should be useless from short range so everything sounds fair.

The reason is prob the skill needed to be an efective sniper

+ 1 for adding scoped perk to sniper rifle. Kuroi is right about skill requirements, which will be slightly above 200 for maximum range, but this is relevant just for power builds with high PE and also it can be negated by removing - 20 AC bonus from .223 FMJ ammunition. So if we apply all changes , we get a small bonus hit ( about 10% ), but introducing penalty at close range and thats a good way to go.

I didn't make that thread. A change was rejected in that thread because the discrepancy was reported as a bug and it is "not a bug".
The motivation of this thread is different.

in real life sniper doesnt have 95% chance to shoot "from 50 hex" and hit eyes, so i agree for this suggestion. lol its more realistic and fuck it if char doesnt have 300 SG%, its their problem making a sniper and knowing the risk. ^^
